I have no clue why people who arent going to post secondary thinking of joing the fighting forces?? Canada has a high unemployment record. The forces will set you up for life, home, food, early retirement. then you wouldnt have to flip burgers your whole life. plus you get to travel . Im seriously thinking of joining, its a wonderful career oppurtunity . Also its almost laughable getting in. you just have to be able to do 19 push ups 19 sit ups and a 2 KM run.

I am about to join the Marines and I wanted to ask couple of questions...
1.Are the helmets uncomfortable?
2.How much weigh do you carry?

I have no idea which I want. I love the marines but not sure if I want force recon. I want to be used for small raids, capturing or eliminating specific enemies, that sort of thing.
I have no problem doing all the other things they do its just I think id be best at that. So does force recon do that, or should I get into something else?

P.S. Im a great swimmer, in great shape, and have bin successful in full contact fighting for years now. How much help would all that be in pursuing a career along that line.

I heard you have to drown yourself and have your partner revive you for the last test in the Navy Seals. Is this true?

Did the founding fathers and early 20th century presidents really see a large standing Federal military as a threat to domestic freedom and international peace?

If so, why don't we still, today, when Pentagon receives 1/4 to 1/3 of total annual Federal budget and routinely exempts itself and its operations from scrutiny of elected officials.

The guy I am talking to was in the Navy for 5 or 6 years. I met him while he was nearing the end and coming back to cilvilian life for good. When we met he was so good to me. But when he came out he changed so much. So distant that he will call 7 days later. Etc Etc He says it's PTSD for the lack of him calling or being the person I knew. How true is this ?

I want to join the Army or Air Force as an operating room specialist but I have a sealed juvenile conviction for Grand Larceny in the 4th. How tough is it to get a waiver to join the Army or Air Force with a sealed juvenile conviction for that? Also I was wondering how long that process takes?
