The Army will accept applicants who have a felony charge, but it does have to be approved by the Commanding General of Recruiting Command, which is no small feat. The Army has a regulation that categorizes infractions (traffic tickets, theft etc) differently than the civilian world does. While it is possible to gain entry in the Army with a felony, it isnt easy. Also, a felony charge or misdemeanor charge may not be the same by Army standards. Your best bet is to talk to a recruiter, they will be able to let you know your chances. Good luck!

Nope....and thank heavens for that. In the service you have to count on, trust and keep your back covered by your buddy. I don't know anyone who would go that far. The last time I recall the army taking in selected felons was during Viet Nam. In fact, when I served there were 2 guys that the courts in Arkansas set to the army instead of prison (prison denotes felons by the way, jail is for terms of less than one year...misdemeanor offenders). They didn't last long. They committed crimes on base and were sentenced to immediate dismissal, dis-honorable discharges and 6 months in the stockade.

Im active duty coast guard and i have a good friend who's a recruiter, depending on the severity of the crime and if you were convicted or aquitted IT maye be waived at some superior officers discretion. But your best bet is just top ask a recruiter for whatever branch.

None of the US armed forces accept people with felonies.

Might try Hezbollah or Al Qaeda.

None in the US my friend. The army told a felon to go away when the judge sentenced him to either jail time or military duty, and the army said no thank you. I am glad, i am in the army, have no desire to have a felon amongst my troops. Find another way to better your life please.
