Your not to specific about this question, are you thinking about joining? I don't know if all branches are the same, but if a tattoo is visible when in the uniform they may not allow you in, as far as if your in, I know that your considered government property and if you get one your defacing government property, and could get in some trouble. But there's no way it would be a medical disability, medical disability is when something happens to you that hinders you from being able to do your job, or they think you'd be useless to the services.

No, tattos are not a medical disability for the USAF. They are allowed while on active duty and I plan to get some when I return from Iraq

No, they are not a medical disability. However, you may not be able to have tattoos on your face or neck, no tattoos that are racist, vulgar, nasty or gang related that are visible when in uniform.

Just so long as you can't see them when you wear a tee shirt or pants you should be fine... or that was what the recruter told me...
