I'm so sorry to hear that. I haven't actually lost anybody close to me yet, thank god. But my husband has been there for over 2yrs total now, so he's lost several friends.
I can only imagine what your family is going through right now. Make sure they keep in contact with the army liason, they can help with lots of resources and such if needed. OUR PRAYERS ARE ALL WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

You have my deepest sympathies. You uncle served us all and we can never thank him for that.
As a teacher I have seen about a dozen of my recently graduated students sent off to Iraq. None have been hurt--that I know of--so far. But the couple that I have talked to when they returned have come back changed young men. One told me of a terrible thing he had to do that will haunt him for the rest of his life... even though he did the right thing.
It pains me to think that this country went lightly into war without fully thinking thru what war means and the risks involved. People like your uncle do us proud, even when we don't deserve it. We owe everything to him and our vets. Whether you believe in continuing the occupation till peace is won or you think that it's time to bring the mission to an end, fight 100% for what you believe.
The only way to honor our troops sacrifice is to make our democracy work. God bless you. I pray you will find peace.

I'm sorry you have to go through this process. It still hurts me to see all the death involved there. I lost a few members of my squad last year there. My brother lost his entire squad there and took a large amount of shrapnel to himself. He lived but he's scarred inside and out for life. There's no easy way to cope with this. Just remember you're uncle for the good times you had with him. He would want that. Remember him and love him for who he was to you. If he has a wife and kids then be there for them too. The pain you are feeling now is nothing compared to what she is feeling. Again, I'm sorry for your loss.

Your Uncle is truly a hero. His sacrifice is a great honor to this country. I am very glad for people like him that protect our freedom. While I have not lost anyone close to me, I have lost some acquaintances. I express sympathy to you and your family.

No, I haven't. But I wouldn't blame Bush if I had. I'd blame the terrorists IN Iraq who killed him or her in the first place. You should too.
PS; you have my sympathy as well.

My deepest sympathy to you and your family.
I have lost fellow American shoulders, and a cousin, who was taken hostage, and was released.
