While conducting stationary LIDAR I observed a vehicle traveling 39 M.P.H in a 25 M.P.H. zone. I clocked the vehcile at this speed using a LIDAR at little over 300 feet. When I pulled the vehicle over I found the driver to be African American. When I told the driver why I pulled her over she replied that the driver in front of her was going faster and that the only reason why I pulled her over was that she was African American and that the other driver was white.

From the distance at which I clocked her at I could not tell what race either driver was. In addition, I expained to the driver that I can only clock one vehicle at a time using a LIDAR and that when using a LIDAR a officer is trained to aim at the license plate of the vehicle, not the driver in order to obtain a speed reading. Lastly, I pulled her vehicle over because there was a break in traffic allowing me to get behind her (traffic was very heavy at the time). I'm know facing a civil lawsuit for discrimintion. Comments??

I am currently researching various civilian careers in the SAR field. but it seems that there is not much information out there on the select group of people we rely on when in desperation! I have always wanted to be a firefighter, but ( and by all means I am not trying to sound immature or vain ) I want to do it to help PEOPLE...not really PROPERTY...I can see myself with an ax going through a wall or roof to save a life...but I dont see myself with 3 other people holding a hose trying to put out a garbage fire...any help...i know i want to save lives for a living, just dont know how to get there! THanks

80 hours? Seriously.. I heard that it has many flaws within it. I am just curious because I'm on probation and the PO told me 80 hours and I about fell out of the chair. I thought you flushed it out of your system in like 24 hours. If there are any PO's out there or law enforcement that can show me literature of the 80 hours being a fact that would be great because I have yet to find anything on it. Thanks.

Can neighbors do whatever they want. I've asked her to stop watering and she doesn't, her boyfriend is now in jail for threating us after we requested they stop flooding our yard and calling the police. My yard is a mess and water continues to slowly flood my yard through a retaining wall from their excessive watering. I live in San Diego county and would like to know if the law protects homeowners againts this type of harrassment and if this could be considered vandalism. Thanks

In this type of scenario, what would you do, or what would be the appropriate actions?

You and your partner are doing night shift, and you stopped a car for a minor traffic violation, and let say your partner gets out and goes to the driver's window, and suddenly the driver shoots your partner, and then takes off, what would you do, would you leave your partner there, with help coming, and chase after the suspect because he shot your partner, or would you stay with your partner, and assist him, and let other units catch the suspect.

I was pulled over for doing 46 in a 30 zone...this is a speed which i never thought id get pulled over for...i was one of the few cars on the road...i didn't really see the cop until he was right behind me and even when he flashed his lights i thought it was for someone else...i'm under 21 and first offender...the ticket is $210...i couldn't believe it...the cop asked if i wanted him to show me the calibration of the radar gone...i said no since i didn't really see the point...and i just learned that saying you're sorry and didn't know you were going that fast is an admission of guilt...i planned on going to court but when i think about it i'm not really sure what my defense would be...other than hoping the cop doesn't show up...all things considered, should I still go to court or pay the $210...the cop also said something about it not affecting my record but i was too out of it to really listen...thanks in advance for your input...
