Her mother and her father cooperated with her cover up. I think that her mother found the kid with her father in bed and she became jealous and when blind and killed her but I think that she didn't mean to. Both of them are guilty, her father for doing what he did with his daughter and covering and her mother for killing her. This is my theory....

We will never know this for sure.

The local police made some assumptions early on in the investigation, that were later found to be unsubstantiated. By that time, it was too late to gather proper forsensic evidence to track down the real killer.

The fact is that TV shows like CSI, Quincy, Crossing Jordan, etc. have led the people to expect miracles from police science, but this stuff is frightfully expensive. To the degree that the police expend money doing that stuff, there is less in the budget for regular police work, so that whole modern science has the effect of meaning many more criminals go scott free, there's no money left to do police work on all the cases that need it.

If it will make you happy, you can believe that George Bush did it, or Judge Judy. Actually it might be easier for them to prove where they were that nite than anyone else. There's millions of people who cannot prove where they were that nite. Take your pick. It could have been just about anyone.

Thanks to the police assuming it was someone in the family, and not capturing evidence to prove it one way or the other, they can't prove it was the family, they can't disprove it either. It could be YOU ... can you prove where you were that nite? Testimony of a family member or co-worker doesn't cut it ... they might have been in on it also.

Sad isn't it that after all this time we still do not know. I thought for a long time that her mother came upon the dad molesting her but I am not sure I believe that anymore. It was just suspension from the beginning. Who got in and out of the house? Why did dad suddenly find her? I would have gone through my home with a fine tooth comb before/during the police call. What about the ransom note? Wasn't it in mom's handwriting? and they waited for days before they even talked with the police. They should have separated them from the first second!!!! I just don't know what to believe. I just think it is truly sad another year has passed. I guess we will never know.

Her Mommy caught daddy doing Jon, and took a swing at his head with a baseball bat. Daddy ducked, and the bat hit Jon in the head, killing her. Then, daddy helped mommy cover it up.

Her parents did. They just have the money to cover it up. Based on what I remember they are the only ones who could have have. Too many things don't make sense for someone else to have done it.

I don't think the parents killed her. I do believe they know who did. I think it was a family member or a close friend of the family. Who would the family protect? The brother? An uncle?

I wish I knew. I do not suspect the parents but think it was a stalker turned pedophile.
