I receive several call from people wanting the phone numbers of various businesses.
Some people call about their sick pets!!
Is it to hard to comprehend the fact that 9-1-1 is for emergencies?

Have a recording say, "This # is for emergency use only, any other use will result in a $10 charge to your phone bill." It may take a few seconds longer but it'll help cut the calls down. And maybe get you guys a healthy raise. I appreciate the work you're doing. Merry Christmas.

My friend works for 911 she calls me from her cell sometimes when she's working people call for such nonsense it's incredible you have the usual crazies that call everyday.Who knows what they're motivation is?Plain not thinking that they're are other numbers to call for non emergencies but the police could try to get that number out maybe with public announcements?

I've heard so many weird reasons that people call 911. I guess there needs to be a better awareness campaign regarding the purpose of 911, an outreach to all the dumba$$es who just don't get it! ;)

and some people are drama queens they are waiting for a reason to call 911 just to see what happens,,,,,

usually they perceive their situation to be urgent when its not, or they are just ignorant and dont know what other number to call
