You can work to stop illegal immigration. And learn to get along with your legal neighbors who are perhaps a little different than you.
I am a blue-eyed blonde, a third generation Angelino of Irish, German, French & Mexican descent. I speak English, Spanish & French fluently. English is my first language.
I grew up in the barrio, and learned to respect people for who they are, not how they speak. My best friend in High School came here from Nicaragua (legally) and would not allow me to speak Spanish to her. She was that determined to learn English. She teaches high school Biology and Science now. In English.
So, quit pouring gasoline on that cross, speak English proudly, and stop being so offended by people who are different from you.

You could always go back to England if you dont like America the way it is. Though im sure they are pretty cultured over there too so that wont make you happy either. Try a nice little town in Montana or something...
You know most hispanics understand english but wont speak it because they are afraid of being made fun of or saying something wrong. So, dont think for a minute they dont know what you're saying. You dont have to learn spanish if you dont want to. But I personally take every opportunity I can to learn a new language whatever it may be. There is nothing wrong with learning something new.

I live in NM and most of the population is Hispanic and some of them do not speak English. However, I feel like English will always be the primary language. Most people conduct business in English all over the world. You should just continue to keep living your life like you were before you noticed this change. Change is not always a bad thing; you should learn to accept people for their differences. You do not have to learn Spanish but, learning how to interact with different cultures will get you far in life especially since the US is becoming more diverse.

NEVER
If I go to Mexico, Japan, Germany, France etc... TO LIVE not visit I would be expected to learn the language to get a job etc....I feel that the respectful thing to do is try and learn the language. There are many people who have live here for 30+ years and never learned the language because they didn't have to. Especially back in the 20's 30' and 40's the children learned and maybe one of the parents. The rest of the family spoke their native language. That's OK if you have someone who will help you and interpret for you. Years ago it was common to have grandparents who didn't speak English. They lived with you and you spoke your native language at home.
I know that now when I put my bank card in it asks me if I want English or ???? Can't they just program my card to I don't have to hit English every time I go to the ATM. I am fine that some need the language they are more fluent in especially when it comes to their money but if it can ask me that can't it just be programed into the card!!!

English- it IS English- simply an extra dialect. Not in contrast to the diversities in language utilization observed in the course of the United States itself. Example- a few say sofa- a few couch- a few divan. Maybe the diversities among American English and English English are extra reported, however I nonetheless consider it's inside that identical realm.

My my someone is having a hissey fit today; of all days. But I don't see why you would have to make any changes. My best friend's parents came from Poland and learned English at a free night school (yes) paid by the taxpayers and never allowed Polish to be spoken in their home. The 3 kids of course learned English at school (at taxpayers expense) and 2 went on to be school teachers themselves, and the third a top executive in Massachusetts. All were professionals that raised wonderful families, paid taxes, and were a great asset to OUR country. BTW what language did your ancestors speak when they first got off the boat?

Most of the hispanics I know of are English speaking. "Hispanic" refers to heratige. There are a lot of Germanic people in America as well.
I think you are referring to the Hispanic people who move here & don't bother to learn the language. There is a big problem with this in Florida. But most children of immigrants learn the language very well.
But feel free to go move to some island somewhere if that will make you happy. Take the KKK with you, please.

Not give up, fight for our rights. Ah, sorry up there but I
don't see why I should have to learn Spanish. I don't
care Spanish are here, it's just plese be Legal and
please learn English and speak it in public. I don't care
what you do in your home. As far as breeding more,
no thanks, the world is over populated as it is and
how many people on welfare and we are paying for it?
And not just Florida, Illinois as well. I still have friends
there. All I ask is please be legal, work if you are able to
and learn English. I would say that to anyone in the USA.
People have called me a non Christian for this but I don't
believe I am and that's it. Thanks.
