Some people say that most people are opposed to deporting illegal immigrants. So let's take a poll and see what the results are. Would you like the illegals deported or not?

He was against illegal immigration for years, but he supported the Senate immigration bill. This bill would have given amnesty to all the illegals in our country. He stated that, "Well, you can't deport 12 to 20 million people." Of course, the alternative to deporting all the illegals is to Enforce our immigration laws! Why did he sell out?

Can an US citizen marry someone who came into the US legally but his/her visa has been expired for several years therefore that person is living in the States without a legal status?

Okay, so my fiancee is currently in prison because he had some parking fines he never got around to paying off. He was about to be released, when the court checked his status and revealed his student visa expired a couple of months before. They are holding him as a result until they can send him to immigration court. He thinks the best option we have is to get a lawyer, but I think the best option is to just let them say he has to leave, then get married in the time frame they give him to leave the country, and go through the citizenship process that way. Does anyone know if there are any better options? Or what can he say/do to the jugde to allow him to stay? Is he right,or am I? Is there a guarantee that he'll get the time to leve the county for us to get married or will the just wait for his passport to finalize, then ship him back to Kenya? We have two children together, and I really do love him, I'm not just marrying him for his citizenship. What can we do???

Many of them are migrating to Italy. Why is the United States being forced to take in Mexicans and Muslims instead of Western Europeans that share our established cultural values?

The number of muslim immigrants to the U.S. is increasing daily; and our own government (by the people and for the people) is to blame.

if the Chinese could build a 2400 Kilometers wall in 214 BC, how come we can't build one in our present time. I think we have better reasons than the Chinese had at that time.

Yes I know, they are criminals just by being here (I agree 100%) but would you be willing to forgive them as a price for secure borders?

I ask this because someone asked me what it would take to convince me to change my mind on the subject. And all I could think of was preventing the next wave.

..That your part spanish which makes you as much of a european as anyone else who isnt 100% native american indian.
So this 'europeans get out' thing is telling yourself to leave too. So lets just drop the attempted rhetoric.
And of course Spanish the language, is the language of Spain, again european.
Spain had control of the southwest and Mexico didnt have control of california, let alone the rest of 'aztlan' as some call it until Mexico's independance from spain which wasnt until the 1820s. Mexico only controlled California for about 20 years. until it was sold to the USA. So thats quite a good deal what quick equity Mexico got out of that deal and they sold other countries they had control of for even less time along with it.

People are using racist way way too much. I dont see that many racist people on here, and most of it is against 'gringos' ( another comment that apparently some justify using while they are calling Americans racist somehow ).

How can we see more raids on employers, a more secure border, and more deportations?

I see a lot of people posting Q & A's saying they are only anti-illegal immigration. I myself am very anti-illegal immigration and very pro-legal immigration and here's why. This man did it right, followed the process and served this country in a way many native born Americans cant or wont. This is an example of a man who came here legally and bravely gave his life for his fellow Americans.

There is no way to stop the illegals from getting here. If you build a wall they will get through it. Walls just don't work in modern times. Look at the Berlin Wall for example.

Thousands got through it and it was only a fraction of fraction of how big the wall that would have to be built on the border would be and it was manned by an armed guard every 100 yards or so.

We cannot put an armed guard every 100 yards on a wall the size of the border and these guards definitely won't shoot to kill like the soviets did.

Also don't you get that these people are hard workers? Without them our economy would plummet. They truly are doing the jobs that most of us wouldn't. They provide our country with a solid labor force which gives us a great edge over other countries. Most countries (such as those in the EU) lack a large labor force and are suffering for it, but the illegals are solving that problem and helping our economy.

The only thing that we can do is assimilate them.

I got this idea from reading someone else's answer:

Everytime an illegal is caught, they are fingerprinted. Those fingerprints along with their picture are put into a database. The name of that database is the "Will never be allowed to become an American" database.

Effective or not?
