Yes I know, they are criminals just by being here (I agree 100%) but would you be willing to forgive them as a price for secure borders?

I ask this because someone asked me what it would take to convince me to change my mind on the subject. And all I could think of was preventing the next wave.

And I don't mean amnesty across the board, I mean for those who would be eligible for citizenship if there wasn't a quota.

I would not want Amnesty even after the border has been secured, but I would find it less problematic. If it's a price for secure border, I would pay that price. I would not be adverse to let them stay after the border is secured though as long as a symbolic punishment was assessed on them.

Absolutely not and I will tell you why. We already don't know who is in our country at any given time. To actually give amnesty to all of the illegals is also giving amnesty to terrorists. Businesses need to stop hiring them, states need to stop helping them, landlords need to start abiding the law and not let anymore than the fire code allows in apartments or rental units, and schools need to stop accepting illegal immigrants. Last but not least all businesses need to start checking on the ss# given so ensure they are who they say they are. If all of this were done they wouldn't have a place to work, live or go to school and would be easily picked up and deported or go home on their own with no hope to thrive here. We would then be able to control our immigration problem. Period.

No. Amnesty is a failed experiment. The amnesty of 1986 only encouraged more to come, in hopes of receiving amnesty in the future. We need to only encourage LEGAL immigrants.
We need to secure the border. We need to deport all illegal aliens and restrict them from applying for legal entry for several years. We need to determine exactly how many temporary workers might be needed, allow them to come and require the employers to ensure they depart the nation when the temporary permit lapses. We need to screen thoroughly all permanent resident applicants and disqualify any with a criminal background or who will place a financial burden on our society. We need to repeal anchor baby laws as that is an inducement to come here illegally. We need to require all legal immigrants speak English or will agree to learn within 2 years or have status revoked.

NO ! Thats what they think, thats why 1 million a month are crossing into the U.S., and holding demonstrations, Go down to mexico and demonstrate against the Government, you'll get arrested, beat up by the cops, thrown in jail, and left to die slowly with an infection. mexico has oil, fertile farmland, and many other things that they can make an economy out of. Is it America's fault (again) because, their leaders are so corrupt ? I guess it's just easier to go across the border and sponge off America, what the Hell, we'll use them as our meal ticket before we take over the country, and turn it into a festering "TOILET" like mexico, they don't care if they ruin the country that you worked so hard to get, the dinner bell is ringing, let's just sponge off America, then hold protest's in the street telling them how much they need us. 80% of the field workers in America are American, so don't buy that "They do the jobs American's don't want" B.S., it's because of THEM that the pay scale is so low, they're stupid enough to work for $4 an hour. And where do they get the $1000 for the "Coyote" to run them across the border into the U.S. why don't they hire a Lawyer to get here legally with the $1000 ? Because, then they would have to pay income tax like the rest of US, they don't like THAT PART of America.
DEPORTATION: A 747 holds over 400 people, the U.S. has about 1000 747's, we can have this "DEPORTATION" problem solved in 2-weeks, Let's get them OUT ! they are "VERMIN" !

No, I think we should kick them all out and then get the military on the border and defend us. If people want to come here, then they can do it legally just like everyone else. Giving them amnesty is just giving incentive for future illegals to run across the border.

After the borders are secure, after stronger actions are being taken against businesses doing illegal hiring, after more aggressive measures against identity theft are in action.. after welfare benefits to illegal people are removed..
Then we can give out more visas and streamline the process of getting them.

personally those that have broken the law already, I have a hard time giving them license to be here permanantly. There are plenty more needy people who 'didn't' break the law I would rather give an opportunity to.

No.

Why should illegal alien criminals be granted citizenship AHEAD of those immigrating here legally. Deport them and send them to the back of the line BEHIND legal immigrants.

ABSOLUTELY NO! We should be able to secure the borders without giving amnesty. This should not be an option. If we can secure our borders WITH amnesty, then we can secure them WITHOUT amnesty. Criminals should NOT be rewarded, no matter how you dress it up!
