I got this idea from reading someone else's answer:
Everytime an illegal is caught, they are fingerprinted. Those fingerprints along with their picture are put into a database. The name of that database is the "Will never be allowed to become an American" database.
Effective or not?
your thoughts...

well, I've read the replies and I agree with you. Maybe this isn't the first step, but when the existing laws are enforced this will help.

Highly effective. If they really do come here to be law abiding citizens then they should do NOTHING to break the law while here. That includes driving without a license or insurance. They can be the great supporters of public transportation.

Great but they're still gonna come back and try to get in illegally again. Theres over 1.7 million that try per year. 500,000 make it though when ZERO should make it through.
We need to secure the border before we work on why they're coming here in droves and whether or not violating our borders should void their application for citizenship (it should of course).

They would just keep coming illegally . Its already a rule that if they are involuntarily deported they cant come legally for 10 years. They need as part of the apprehension a fine that they will have to pay or work off while imprisoned. ya know labor, like when you see prisoners cleaning up the sides of the highway. maybe they could go clean up all the trash left behind at the border.

I like it. Effective, I would agree with CinceWahine. They weren't expecting citizenship in the first place.

And you don't think the govt.'s hasn't thought of this???? If they wanted to find you, they would....They know a lot more about you and me than you think....Problem is, they don't want to pick up these people and round them up, it doesn't benefit this country and big business....

You need to go to college before you even come close to coming up with an idea about illegal immigration.
"MEXICANS ARE THE BES…" --- I agree with you.

Sounds good to me.
But, not effective as most are here to make money to send home so that in the future they can go home too. They don't want to be part of our society. They only want the cash.
