I agree and very good point. It makes me sick.

Why is it people equate assimilating with losing their culture.
(regarding DeAnna's comment and others like it)

If you have been in the USA you know that there is so much rich culture (brought from immigrants) all over the place.

The city I live in has Italian, Greek, Slavic, Mexican, African, Polynesian, and Native American cultural events.
No one tells you you cant wear a poncho or wear a turban or whatever.

People just want you to be able to understand them and them to understand you and business is conducted in english. Thats it. And no one says you cant speak your native language at home, amongst friends, at a cultural event or whatever.

Well, every race has some that are undesireable. The latino race is no different. Some of us get it and many don't! I personally believe that if you are here, you should try to integrate. If you want to keep your culture, you should have stayed home!

America has its own culture, and way of doing things. Certainly the visitors are aware of this (American TV is only transmitted around the world for heavens sake!) and should be prepared to adapt.

I was shocked that at the first few immigration rallys, there were Latino's carrying the Mexican flag, wanting to stay and live/ benefit from being in America illegeally. The gall of my own people! I was a lone voice in a sea of retards I tell ya! Fellow Latino's looked at me if I was from another planet. They didn't seem to get the disdain that they were creating from their actions.

For all the bleeding hearts saying they just want a better life, after seeing how Mexico and their people treated Miss America in the Miss Universe contest.......that should have stopped the bleeding. It showed their dis-respect for our people. They have already showed it for our flag. Miss America handled the boo-ing with class but it was inexcusable. These are the people we are suppose to feel sorry for....never. Get them the hell out of here.

They don't want a piece of our lives. They want what we have already built. They want the land. They want to be here, not there. But they don't want the "American Dream", or anything close to it. They want to be here, and like they say, and their signs say, they want us to go "back to Europe" even though most of us have never lived in Europe. I guess we are all supposed to become illegal immigrants just to make them happy.

My father was a legal immigrant from overseas. He became a citizen, and wanted a piece of the life here. He liked Americans and never thought about having them leave their own country.
He didn't give up his culture, but he lived a basically American life, though we did listen to both kinds of music in our home. But we didn't blast it from the car stereo either. We celebrated two Easter celebrations, one for Americans and the one celebrated at a different time for the religion he was brought up in.
Which brings me to one more point. Which sort of has to do with this question. People who live here are supposed to be AMERICANS. So why are we, all of the sudden, Mexican American, African American, Chinese American, etc....?
For one thing, some of these people have never been to the place that they put in front of American. Okay, okay, I get it, I can see you, I know that your ancestors are from Africa, but most don't know what part of Africa that might even be. I consider people born here to people who are legal citizens to be American. Period. What are the illegals then?? Mexican Mexicans?
This is America people, be an American, or leave. You don't have to give up any of your culture, ours was celebrated in our own homes, and the homes of people from "the old country". But don't come here and tell us we have to change. Or that we have to leave. If our American culture doesn't suit you, move elsewhere.

No kidding. I wish they would take advantage of our American music. You can't tell me that their polka sounding music is better than what we have. I also wish they'd take a look around them at white peoples' houses and notice that we don't keep crap in our yards-in fact we mow it and plant flowers. We also don't paint them awful colors. All I ask is for them to try.

Yea i got really pissed off when during the World Cup last year a few Mexicans in America were rooting against the American team for no reason at all. If you really hate the country you are in right now, then leave it.

I find it funny that a necrophiliac finds something revolting.

I thought the La Raze Mecha stuff was some sort of joke until I saw Mexicans march into a government meeting dressed in military gear, with the Mexican's flag sewn on their uniform making demands on our school system, because our education system made their kids look dumb.

That's exactly why people are so angry about this issue. On the one hand they say they want to be citizens but then they have rallys filled with hate and racism.

Yeah that's going to make us want to have as neighbors.

That's why they are considered illegal. That's why ppl who hire them can't pay them by check or cash. And the illegal immigrant can't demand cash or check as payment either. However they can demand payment in gold and /or silver for services rendered within the United States. They most definitely have lawful remedies available to them if the ppl who used(i.e hired)them don't pay and/or refuse to pay them in this manner.
