I received an I-94 when I entered the United States for the first time. Then I was granted asylum status and received another I-94 card. Now I am filing I-485 for Permanent Residence and I am not sure whether I should use the old one or the one I received from being granted asylum status.

My son's mother is Mexican. She's currently out of the picture. Because of all the heat about illegals and Mexicans in general right now, my fiance wants me to tell people that my son is Costa Rican, rather than Mexican, because she thinks people will look down on him if they find out he's half Mexican.

I don't really mind lying to people rude enough to ask "what is he", but I don't think he should feel ashamed of his nationality. (He's four years old now, old enough to know what a lie is.)

Any thoughts?

I was just out for Subway a few minutes ago, and noticed a "La Raza" bumper sticker with a radio station frequency under it.

They say they aren't racist, yet, if white people had a station that said "The White People's Radio Station" --God forbid, we'd be the most racist bunch on the face of the planet...

---Is it just me or ....what's the deal with that?

Hell, if you can have a "hispanic radio station" why not have a "white radio station?"

How come every time I say I am against ILLEGAL immigration and think it's a crime I get called an ignorant racist? What part of wanting our laws enforced has to deal with ignorance or racism? Also, doesn't that make the person calling me a that racist and ignorant themselves for just ASSUMING that I'm referring to Mexicans? After all, I could be talking about Canadians.

We have seen in our own country that religious differences can continue for centuries. Similar events have been occurring in the Balkans and the Middle East for even longer. The problems of the latter two areas have now been imported to the UK by foolish, unthinking and ignorant politicians. They are not going to disappear by waving some magic Blair wand. Does he not realise that? Britons for many decades will now be living in the shadow of death and destruction. To compound it upwards of a million Eastern Europeans, many of whom are of Third World standard, gypsies, criminals etc, will be pouring into the country in 2007. God help us!

I am going to study in Canada in September and just got my letter of acceptance, problem is that it takes up to at least 4 weeks to apply for a student visa, and sometimes 16 weeks!!!!
I used to lived in Canada as a permanent residence, but I am not a citizen there, I am not 18 yet, and my parents never lived there for enough time to get citizenship. Is there anyway for me to re enter Canada, if I haven't went back there for 4 years, and I havent got the Maple Leaf Card? I dont want to apply for a student visa just in case there are other ways. thanks guys

Bush and his immigration policy supporters constantly use this phrase as a reason for giving citizenship to people here illegally and why he is not concerned about people that we know nothing about sneaking into our country. I was just wondering what exactly this is supposed to mean.

What exactly do family values have to do with knowing who come into your country? What are these family values that people that sneak into the country illegally have that people that immigrate legally or are citizens that are returning home don't have?

Do family values stop at the airport or other places where you have to show ID or have a backgrand check before entering? Next time I'm asked for a passport to enter a coutry can I use my family values as a reason to not show a passport?

Articles like this seem to show a lack of what I would consider family values.

The results i got were any where from 10 to 15 billion yes i said BILLION a year.
Did anyone catch the CBS news this morning? The story of what slackers in america cost us yearly. These are our hard working americans. CBS estimated that slackers cost this nation some where around $750 Billion a year in lost productivity. Compared to a measly 15 Billion illegals cost us....Dont you think America needs to get back to work instead of sitting in front of their computers answering questions in Yahoo complaining about illegals comming into this nation taking our jobs and robbing us blind.?
