I am going to study in Canada in September and just got my letter of acceptance, problem is that it takes up to at least 4 weeks to apply for a student visa, and sometimes 16 weeks!!!!
I used to lived in Canada as a permanent residence, but I am not a citizen there, I am not 18 yet, and my parents never lived there for enough time to get citizenship. Is there anyway for me to re enter Canada, if I haven't went back there for 4 years, and I havent got the Maple Leaf Card? I dont want to apply for a student visa just in case there are other ways. thanks guys

If you were there as a permanent resident you should have gotten the permanent resident card. Citizenship takes a minimum of 3 years of residency in Canada continuous. How long is your class? Apparently you can study in Canada provided that the class is less than 6months with out a study visa. Perhaps when you enter Canada to study the port that you enter could issue your visa?

Check the government website to check your options www.cic.gc.ca or perhaps contact the port that you will be entering and ask if they will issue you a study visa based on your acceptance letter. Or get your papers ready for the study visa and hope you can take the class while you are waiting for your papers
