I've traveled to many different countries in South America and Europe and a lot of these countries supposedly hate the US.

However, whenever I go there I'm welcomed with open arms and people seem to LOVE the fact that I'm from the US.

Is this just one big lie or have people actually been treated badly internationally because they are American?

Fundamentalist Muslims
Told To Get Out
Of Australia
8-19-6

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on
Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted
radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to
Australia and her Queen at a special meeting with Prime Minister John
Howard, he and his Ministers made it clear that extremists would face
a crackdown. Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to
Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the
country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state,
and its laws were made by parliament.

"If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia
law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you," he said on
national television.

"I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws
governing people in Australia: One the Australian law and another the
Islamic law that is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary law,
independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have
the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it,
perhaps, then, that's a better option," Costello said.

Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he
said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to
the other country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told
reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values
should "clear off." Basically people who don't want to be
Australians, and who don't want to live by Australian values and
understand them, well then, they can basically "clear off", he said.

Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by
saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques.
Quote: "IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It.
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending
some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist Attacks on
Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of
Australians."

"However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when
the 'politically correct' crowd began complaining about the
possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not
against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is
seeking a better life by coming to Australia."

"However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to
our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand."

"This idea of Australia being a multicultural community has served
only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As
Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own
language and our own lifestyle."

"This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles,
trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought
freedom."

"We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese,
Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to
become part of our society, learn the language."

"Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right
wing political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on
Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly
documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of
our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another
part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our
culture"

"We will accept your beliefs and will not question why. All we ask is
that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with
us."

"If the Southern Cross offends you or you don't like "A Fair Go,"
then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this
planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change,
and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. By
all means, keep your culture, but do not force it on others.

"This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow
you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done
complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our
Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take
advantage of one other great Australian freedom, THE RIGHT TO LEAVE."

If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come
here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted."
Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, American citizens will
find the backbone to start speaking and voting the same truths ! !

Immigrants - wether legal or illegal aren't going anywhere...even if a few get deported ..there are way too many here now. You spend time on here threatening people as if they were just gonna run back to their country just cuz you say so! PLEASE!!! A lot of people on her just write to write. More than half don't even know what they are talking about. I know illegals that pay taxes...never get them back though cuz they are using a fake social. So the government keeps the damn money, which u all claim they are taking away from you! NOT TRUE! Anyways, If you are going to talk about the immigration issue - why do some of you have to be so racist, immature and ignorant?! Why can't this topic be talked about in a mature, respectful way? Most importantly, why are some of you on here acting like such hard a**es when they know they don't have the guts to tell someone those (racist/offensive) comments face to face?

As long as humanity exists there will always be descrimination (even when the law says thats illegal). Theres people that have a problem even with you being light skin, I just came up to the conclusion of living my life and forget about that, you cant change peoples mentality, that is their problem, let them deal with the bitterness in their heart towards certain kind of people. theres nothing you can do about it, dont waste your time and energy trying to convince them, just live and enjoy your life, live it up and forget about that.

Cheap Labor?~
~AT WHOSE EXPENSE~
Isn't that what the whole immigration issue is about?

Business doesn't want to pay a decent wage,

Consumers don't want expensive produce,

Government will tell you that Americans don't want the jobs

But the bottom line is cheap labor.

"The phrase "cheap labor" is a myth, a farce, and a lie.

There is no such thing as "cheap labor."

Take, for example, an illegal Mexican who sneaks in here with his
wife and five children.

He takes a job for five or six dollars an hour.

At that wage with six dependents he pays no income tax, yet at the
end of the year if he files income tax he gets an "earned income credit"
of up to $3,200 free. [[He, & his family are not citizens of this country]]

He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent,

He qualifies for food stamps.

He qualifies for free (no deductible, no co-pay) health care.

His children get free breakfasts and lunches at school.

He requires bilingual teachers and books.

He qualifies for relief from high energy bills.

If they are or become, aged, blind or disabled they qualify for SSI.

Once qualified for SSI they can qualify for medicare.

All of this is at that taxpayers expense.

He doesn't have to worry about car insurance, life insurance, or
homeowners insurance.

Taxpayers provide Spanish language signs, bulletins and printed
material.

He cannot be fired, harassed, or sued.

He and his family receive the equivalent of $20 to $30 an hour in
benefits.

Working Americans are lucky to have $5 or $6 an hour left after
paying their bills and his.

N.J. immigration law sparks protest
RIVERSIDE, N.J. - Hundreds of protesters and counter-protesters assembled in this small Philadelphia suburb Sunday in response to the community's new attempt to crack down on illegal immigration. Protesters argued against a township ordinance adopted last month that bans the hiring and housing of people who cannot verify they are legal residents. A larger group massed across the street to support the new law.

People on both sides of the street waved American flags.

The protest organizer vowed to invite new immigrants to Riverside if people are forced to leave.
"For every immigrant who feels afraid and leaves Riverside, we are going to find an immigrant to volunteer to come live in Riverside," the Rev. Miguel Rivera told the Courier-Post of Cherry Hill for Sunday editions. "Riverside is going to be ours."

Rivera, president of the National Coalition of Latino Clergy and Christian Leaders, is leading the opposition to the Illegal Immigration Relief Act in this community of about 8,000 people.

The ordinance punishes landlords and employers who house or hire illegal immigrants. Local officials estimate that as many as 3,500 illegal immigrants, many from Brazil, live in the town.

The ordinance is similar to one passed in July in Hazleton, Pa., and comes as other towns across the nation are considering such measures.

Both the Riverside and Hazleton ordinances have been challenged in federal court

My fiance and I applied for a fiance visa back in February 2006. In July our case was approved and the paperwork was forwarded to the UK (where he is immigrating from). This month (August) he had his medical exam, but we have not heard from the embassy yet in regards to an interview date. Does anyone know the time frame of when that should happen? Also, once he does have the interview, how long afterwards until he gets the visa and is able to finally be here in the US with me? Im hoping he'll be here by October 2006. Is that reasonable to think that or am I just being hopeful? Please help...I am growing impatient and would appreciate some guidance. Thanks in advance! :)

Anytime you do not agree with a pro illegal, you are a racist. Can't they think of anything else to say? Aren't they racist towards REAL Americans?
Gimmie a break!
Pro illegals, you have misused the term racist to the point of it becoming totally meaningless.

This doesn't happen in Brazil.

WILL THE ILLEGAL WHO STOLE MY DONKEY PLEASE RETURN IT?

I am not trying to ofend none of you guys i am just seeing the thing in a different perspective.
