Oh German they don't want to see anything from another perspective...during one of the hottest summers we've had in a long time were unemployed citizens clamoring for the jobs immigrants have in factories, as landscapers, working construction, roofing, blacktopping??? OF course not...they just like to whine about the jobs they can't get...if they wanted these backbreaking jobs they would apply and get them. The problem is they would get there late, drink at lunch and call in sick if it was hot out...then they would get fired and guess who would end up with the job???? That's right....an immigrant!!!

From my perspective, I am seeing them using our services and programs that are offered to American Citizens, and they are doing that without paying any of the taxes that American Citizens pay to fund those programs. From THAT perspective, I do not agree with illegal immigration.

I don't think that the job angle is really that valid of an argument. If all of the illegal immigrants quit their jobs and left the country, I don't think there would be too much trouble filling the jobs that suddenly opened up.

I will agree with you - America as a soceity is lazy. But if all that is available to feed the family and pay the bills is jobs in agriculture, then I think more than you realize will work in it. Here in Wisconsin, there is a lot of farm land, and you know something? There aren't a whole hell of a lot of illegal immigrants up here working, and the farmers don't seem to have a problem filling the jobs and harvesting their crops or getting their cows milked. So maybe the problem IS the illegal immigrants taking the jobs. Just because you see the job as "low" doesn't mean that it is to everyone.

I believe you are wrong. Unions protect the rights of Americans in the work force. It is not entirely true that illegal immigrants just work the jobs the Americans will not do. Americans are happy to work hard, but will not work for $2 per hour. It is not fair to anyone. The people who employ illegal immigrants should be punished. I think on a whole the US nation does not mind immigrants in this Country, we can't complain about that too much, since we are a nation built on immigration. It is OK for people to come here, just do it legally, it is better for everyone.

Whatever. What is your answer to the $1Billion dollars LA County [LA County alone, not counting State or Federal funds] spent on benefits for illegals last year?

What about the degraded education our children get in schools due to the overcrowding from illegal immigrants and their children who divert a huge portion of education funds to ESL programs so that programs for our children are cut?

What about the hugely disproportionate crime rate?

Think twice before you suggest there is nothing to blame them for, granted that the employers share the blame.

And if we are not a hard working society, how come we can pay for all of these benefits? Are we just that much more charitable and socially responsible than the government of Mexico is to its own people? And if so, why don't they change that at their home?

What is the big deal? This is a nation of immigrants. The original immigrants used steel and gunpowder to seize the land from the Natives, then they sat back and wrote their law which makes immigration here a legal issue.

If you want 'illegal immigration' to stop, then get the government to stop being so generous with the perks and benefits. Quit hating a people who merely want to survive. Stop using 9-11 as excuse. The 9-11 pilots came here with passports and visas, on a 747 with our own government's knowledge, help and blessing.

Get real. Put your prejudices and biases and hatred behind you. You are truly afraid of becoming the minority. Get over it. If it is going to happen, it is going to happen. Deal with it and make the best of it.

These people are not your enemies. They are your best allies. Put a terrorist and an illegal alien from south of the border in the same room and they will kill each other. Their ideals are diametrically opposed.

Yeah, you're wrong. If you think that employers who willingly employ illegal aliens pay a living wage or taxes on those wages you are totally naive in the subject!

But let's clear something up first. I have no axe to grind with immigrants. Immigrants by definition are here LEGALLY. They've "paid their dues" to get here legally and I heartily welcome each and every last one of them! Undocumented workers -- illegal aliens -- are an entirely different story!

Unskilled illegals are paid well below minimum wage and semi-skilled illegal workers are typically paid less than half of what legal workers would be paid. When employers are caught the fines are well below the maximum and virtually never high enough to level the playing field for legal workers. It's just another cost of doing business for the employers, and a windfall on the bottom line for them as well.

Unions are not going to be of any use in an non-union shop. Strike busting is legal, but bringing in illegal aliens is not yet the employers are allowed to get away with it.

If the government imposed the maximum fines for hiring undocumented workers it would be cheaper for employers to pay legal workers a living wage and most of the illegals would go home all on their own. And if the IRS would start slamming the employers for failure to pay payroll taxes on the wages they pay to the illegals, the jobs would dry up PRONTO!

If there are no jobs, most would rather be home and poor with family than poor and alone here.

Yeah, lets face it Americans are a hard working society, all of my family and friends work very hard and also my coworkers, I am sick of people like you saying Americans are not hard workers, how do you think this country got this way, our ancestors were hard workers and the people of present day are also hard workers. Just because the illegals that come here to get menial jobs, dose not make them hard workers, if they were hard workers they would be working in their own country, and not complain about the pay the get, So I can say the same thing about them that you say about Americans, Americans are to lazy to work for little money, because they can't support their families on those wages. Then also the Mexicans are to lazy to work for little money that they get in Mexico, that they can't support their families on. The American society has been going strong for 200 years and it hasn't been because of the Mexicans. Some of the Illegal Mexicans are starting to demand more money especially in construction and landscaping, on the news it was reported they want 15 an hr. for land scaping jobs, they have put a lot of black people out of work also, example Tyson Chicken. Why are they so demanding here and not in their own country, let me tell you I have worked with Mexicans and they don't work any harder than anyone else. The empolyer needs to be fined and licences taken away for hireing illegals. In some small town that is happening they are suspending the licences of people that hire illegals.

Migration is as old as civilisation itself. Only difference is in the factors that prompted mass-migration in history. It is mainly economic and the wars and feuds as a reult of clash of economic interests.

The arguments you have in favour of immigration due to preference by the employer to employ non-locals who are less skilled and rights-consciuous and hence, proved to be more a burden than productive factor may not hold good, because how long an industry survive on atificial limbs? These migrant employees are like mecenary soldiers on whose stomach alone the Army does not march. They have to merge with the environment where they serve. However, immigration, to-day is a result of the IT revolution which in the very scheme of the evolutionary Nature, none can stop it.

We aren't complaining about immigrants...only illegal immigrants, which you folks never really want to deal with. And you guys are really not all that hard working. We built this society that your people are so desperate to live in. We sure aren't scrambling to live in your mess of a country...although we sure have sent a lot of good factory jobs down there....of course the quality of the work suffers tremendously and we have to do a lot of quality control....but hey you guys are such hard workers.

It's really a shame you can't seem to make your own country great....

Why I am even answering this question....

You are wrong, what is this thing you got with immigration? If you think you can solve the problems of illegals, form a group and start doing something. ENOUGH with the immigration.
