In the U.S., people want universal healthcare, welfare, social security (like anyone under 40 will see that), government oversight on just about everything, etc. Is personal responsibility fallen by the wayside?

We all know by now that Marylin Manson just did his antics to get press and noticed. He just did the most outrageous thing to get attention... Isn't Ann Coulter doing the same thing, saying whatever she thinks is outrageous to get attention and sell her books, or do you believe she believes all the hate filled things she says?

In the past year we've heard about SO many exports from China found to be harmful. Why can't they seem to fix this problem? Is it a lack of morality, or inefficiency? When people's lives are at risk, it seems that changes should be implemented much faster.

There's been melamine tainted pet food, toothpaste containing diethelene glycol (antifreeze), children's toys with lead paint... and more lead tainted toys recalled yesterday. Who else is angered by this?

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: October 12, 2007
The Bush administration reported that the federal budget deficit fell to $162.8 billion in the budget year just ended, the lowest amount of red ink in five years. The administration credited the president’s tax cuts for helping generate record-breaking revenues but warned of an approaching “fiscal train wreck” unless Congress dealt with unsustainable growth in Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid spending. The deficit for the 2007 budget year, which ended Sept. 30, was 34.4 percent lower than the $248.2 billion deficit recorded in 2006. It was $81 billion lower than the administration had projected in February.

It strikes me as a perfect match right there. I mean, unless they didn't like each other back then. He has evolved into a complete humanitarian with incredible force. After all, the documentary on environment is in benefit of the whole world.

So what better post for him in Hillary's presidency than that of secretary of state!

Seems to me taxes are way too high.
Taxed when you go get groceries. Taxed when you pay your bill. Taxed at the gas pump. Taxed if you save money. Taxed if you invest money. Taxed even when you die.

Is the UK heading for economic meltdown, due to 10 years of
Labour Government, and their tax and waste policies and generousity to immigrants? It seems to me that the UK is built on the back of MEW (mortgage equity withdrawl), and not a booming economy. We are a nation of service industry and very little manufacturing, as the public want cheap goods, so the majority of manufacturing is done in China, Vietnam, India, Eastern Europe etc., using cheaper labour. The Govt have introduced 100 stealth taxes through the back door which affect hard working tax paying citizens, and little by little, the government take more and more money from tax payers. Where has all the Govt's money gone? And all the people paying into a system designed for us, yet fails us when we need it, people taking out of the pot who have not paid into it and our benefits system being a magnet to immigrants. If we offered no benefits, would they come? Many people are living on credit and beyond their means to exist

It appears that those who are liberal in their political views would want to change almost everything in government. Our country has been greater, more peaceful, and more bountiful in the past. Does it not make sense that we should try to conserve much of what this country was founded on/for? A conservative government should be one that allows peace and safety to reign in our country and let everyone liberally do as they please. Too often liberals want government to get involved in things like healthcare and retirement only to find out that even more of their own freedom is being taken away. I will conclude that though I don't agree with much of what liberals stand for in government, I do not see this country divided as our media likes it to appear. We can and must co-exist to show others what freedom is. Freedom is not allowing the government to get involved in too many aspects of its' peoples lives. Respect one another--even idiotic conservatives--it will become contagious!.

It has been decades, and the rich get richer with tax breaks and the poor pay the price for it. This is not fair, the government says they are doing what the people want, well I think if you are rich the government does but if you are poor, or middle class income family they take from them and the rich gets all the breaks. We all pay taxes but the rich are the only ones that seem to benifit from in and that includes the government, they are getting rich while the people suffer for it. Promises made and then as soon as government (which ever one wins the election) and then the promises are broken and again the poor suffer. Promises to do things are just words it is time to see some results to help all the people not just the rich.
