Jackson first appeared on the twenty dollar bill in 1928. It is not clear the reason the bill was switched from Grover Cleveland to Andrew Jackson. According to the U.S. Treasury, "Treasury Department records do not reveal the reason that portraits of these particular statesmen were chosen in preference to those of other persons of equal importance and prominence." [1].

Good president. Strong military leader. Helped negotiate rights to use louisiana waterways to move products from farms in ohio kentucky.
Maybe not the most deserving in some eyes but we also have two non-presidents on out bills (at least the ones in circulation) Hamilton and Franklin.

in spite of the "trail of tears"scandal, General Jackson is considered one of the greatest presidents. During the war of 1812 when the British tryed to take New Orleans at the Mississippi river Jackson led the defense and he swore the redcoats would not sleep on America soil that night on any other night. His troops bombed them (canon Bombs?) into submission.

I was not born yet or they would have asked me. I did turn them down for the $2.00 bill for I am holding out for the Million.
