Why on earth would our government on BOTH sides seek to destroy our country with the immigration bill if it was REALLY that bad? Don't you think MOST people are overreacting a tad too much about this issue?

Story link in an attempt to stall liberal whine:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070605/ap_on_go_co/congressman_probe

quote 1 William Jefferson D-La.
"I have supported every ethics and lobbying reform measure that you and our Democratic Majority have authored."
quote 2
It is inappropriate for any other member to impose on these proceedings," Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, D-Ohio, chairwoman of the Standards of Official Conduct committee, "I refuse to allow these proceedings to be politicized by House Republican leadership
quote 3.
"In doing so, I, of course, express no admission of guilt or culpability in that or any other matter that may be pending in any court or before the House of Representatives,"

1.) Why is John Boehner forced to clean up Pelosis mess while being stalled by the regimes "ethics" comittee
2.)How is having 90k in bribe money in your freezer supporting anyone but Jefferson.
3.)Why would Pelosi take over two years to form an "investigation" and only by force?

This energy source will eliminate many concurrent problems facing the US and the world yet we the people continue to be manipulated in believeing that the energy sources that are being utilized are the only sources available to us. Now, anyone who wants to thoroughly research this subject will ultimately come across electro magnetic energy. This subject seems to be the most controversial subject that enters the US patent office in years. Many scientists and engineers have been silenced and threatened to stop work on inventions that could possibly place the current status quo energy companies at risk????Congresswoman Berkley recently placed a bill before the house to revive the Office Technological Assessment. Here could be the beginning of a thorough investigation into the feasibility of such green energy sources and provide the public and their representatives a true scientific fact finding group to enhance the knowledge so one can become more versed in issues that are before us.

To celebrate all the great achievements the brits have pulled off at the cost of innocent lives both at "home"? and abroad. You could invite some yanks back who may even find unknown offsprings from the second world war they left the stupid women with who flocked after them for a few pairs of stockings and some chewing gum ? You could show some films of Vietnam and *Napalm* etc. Could it take place somewhere like say Bradford or Birmingham ? Imagine the support on the streets if Georgie W and Tony B where to appear as the two cheeks of one great a r s e for all the world to cheer on ? What a great spectacle that would be for Britain eh ? Everyone could get DRUNK in good old true brit style !! You could staff the event with casual hired labour from one of the thousands of scab agencies in britain....use the Polish or some other disadvantaged underpaid 'slave' workers ? And how about all the LITTER it would create to mark GREAT britain in all it's real true colours ?

Hilary said at the debate Sunday she was against English being the official language because we would not be able to print ballots in other languages. She acts like this a bad thing. Not one penny of taxpayer money should be spent on printing any official documents in anything other than English.

The American stock exchange is the most stable and secure in the world (for the time being). Every weekday, hundreds of billions are exchanged without any sort of tax on the transactions. We pay sales and use tax when we buy other capital assets (then subject to capital gains or losses upon sale) but Wall Street is treated as a sacred cow. A transaction tax would serve to further stablize the markets since no one would be inclined to invest in short-term strategies. I believe a transaction tax needs to be studied and considered as a way of allowing our income tax code to be made much simpler than it is today. The so-called Flat Tax and Fair Tax (National sales tax) would only shift most of the tax burden to the poor. I mean do you really want to pay 10 or 20 percent of profit to the government when you sell your home?

"According to a new New York Times/CBS News poll, only 16% of Americans think the government is telling the truth about 9/11:
"Do you think members of the Bush Administration are telling the truth, are mostly telling the truth but hiding something, or are they mostly lying?
Telling the truth 16%
Hiding something 53%
Mostly lying 28%
Not sure 3%"
The 16% are probably a waste of energy: if they still believe the official story, then they are unlikely to change their minds based on facts. (If you have the patience to never give up, then more power to you).
The 28% who say "mostly lying" are probably already 9/11 truthers. They may, however, simply believe that the government LET 9/11 happen on purpose, without understanding that 9/11 could not have succeeded unless elements within the government had actively ASSISTED in the attacks. So you might want to discuss some of the facts regarding the war games and the Mineta testimony, for example.

How the HELL can MP's have voted to have Parliament exempt from the Smoking ban?

They push this on the rest of us and give us no chose in the matter, but its fine for them to have an exemption. The bloody hypocrites. They should lead by example not "do as I say, not as I do"

MP's should be banned from Smoking just like the rest of us.

I remember the Winter Of Discontent, when there were power cuts, rubbish piled up in the streets everywhere for weeks on end, the schools were closed, the dead went unburies, no ambulances, no trains, no buses, no petrol, and a 3 day working week ... all thanks to the unions!

Do you agree with me that despite the problems and challenges facing our great counrtry, we should all be grateful to Maggie Thatcher for ending chaos like that?
