Or at least in California where I live where I believe it is close, but i'm not shure. Does anybody care to comment on their states state of medical care and health? What are some of the obstacles that are holding us back from taking care of our own people? Greedy doctors? Sleezy lawyers trying to sue healthcare workers and the industry? or have people in this country just given up on being healthy and not dying from heart disease?

Once, there had been free cities dotted throughout the USA. These cities had been inhabited by men who identified themselves not as the subjects of a pharaoh or a king of kings, but as citizens, and who proudly boasted of the values that distinguished them from slaves—free speech, private property, rights before the law. By the 21st century Hillary was elected and the Republic imploded. As a result, over two hundred years of civic self-government were brought to an end. The American people too, in the end, grew tired of antique virtues, preferring the comforts of easy living and peace. Rather the NBA and welfare than wars.

In 2000, our budget was $1.8 trillion. In 2007, it's $2.8 trillion. What are we spending the extra trillion dollars on?

I realize some of it is the war, some entitlements, etc. But can anyone quantify them for me?

Numbers / sources a must. It baffles me how quickly the budget increased that much.

I mean, we cannot stay there forever, b/c we cannot win this war. It's just costing too much money and too many American lives, and too many tears. A senator said in support of the war a few days ago, "When three thousand american troops have died, when are you going to stand up to them?". Good arguement. However, they are not dying for a good purpose. They are not doing anything good for the U.S., there just doing good things for Bush and Cheney. There not helping us at all, there just actually helping spread al-Qaida to a country it's never operated in before, and further inflaming the mess. Bush is causing American deaths each day, only because of what he wants done in Iraq.
