Once, there had been free cities dotted throughout the USA. These cities had been inhabited by men who identified themselves not as the subjects of a pharaoh or a king of kings, but as citizens, and who proudly boasted of the values that distinguished them from slaves—free speech, private property, rights before the law. By the 21st century Hillary was elected and the Republic imploded. As a result, over two hundred years of civic self-government were brought to an end. The American people too, in the end, grew tired of antique virtues, preferring the comforts of easy living and peace. Rather the NBA and welfare than wars.

Well I think of us more like Rome, towards its end, when its populous became decadent and weak.

There is no doubt that Hillary would like to turn the U.S. socialist. She reminds me a lot of the Angela Landsbury character in The Manchurian Candidate, except that Hillary is a lot less shrewd.
The road to Socialism is so insidious.
You will hear politicians like Hillary touting some Socialist program as fulfilling the spirit of the great American nation. Instead of identifying it as a Socialist program, they try to make people associate it with generosity, justice, or something noble. People eat this stuff up because they don't realize it is a trap.
Soviet dictator Khrushchev correctly noted, "We can't expect the American people to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism."
Norman Thomas observed, "The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."
Beware of politicians spouting Socialism. They will always make sure their wealth is protected from the Socialist nightmare they create. They want people to become dependent on the government, and what better way than Hillary's attempt at a huge power grab?

There have been no free cites in America. Those 'free men' you allude to were always subject to laws--they were citizens of a legalized community. The key word is ELECTED. Whoever gets elected will have to enact laws that keep the NBA free from graft and welfare free from cheaters.

It isn't only Hillary, most of those running for President will have the same outcome. We could be saved by voting for Ron Paul of the Republican Party or John Edwards of the Democratic Party.

I'm not sure if that is our future, but if we don't start taking "the bull by the horns' soon, we will be in a world of hurt, and will end up a third world nation begging the E.U. for help. Sad, but hopefully not true.

America is the greatest nation on God's green earth. I don't know if this country can survive Hillary though. She would turn the USA into the USSR.

It isn't just Hillary. It is what our government thought the American people wanted - or better yet what they wanted.

No. That's incredibly silly to suggest and shows a basic lack of knowledge regarding politics.
