I see lots of people saying that Bush can ignore subpoenas, and that Congress cannot compel executive branch officials to testify under oath at Congressional hearings. I've looked, and I cannot find any law or case the gives the Executive Branch blanket immunity from Congressional subpoenas. But I may be wrong.

So, can anyone please cite a federal statute, or a federal court case from any circuit recognizing such authority. And please don't just make bald statements about "separation of powers" or "because he's the president". If those are correct, then cite the appellate court that have recognized that common law authority.

Is this a good non-normative research question for my political sex (gender) class?
I seem to keep coming up with questions that are only
answered by opinions. I am not a very technical writer. I have other questions that may or may not be good, but could use some advice.

Thanks

I go to Southeren Local and we have a president project. My dad told me that Bill Clinton was not "impeached however I say he was. I would like proff that he was impeached. I thought that he had an affair with a White House staff member. That is what I heard from my teacher Ms.Marquis. Then again she is a little koo-koo.

Given that 'new labour' is virtually the same as the 'old tories'; that we are a constitutional monarchy without a constitution; that the Queen has ultimate power over the state; that we have a 'house of lords' and 'house of commons' in the 'upper' and 'lower' houses respectively (the language there says a lot!), just because we elect MPs, does that really make us a true democracy? (Even the Chinese elect government officials....)
