In my opinion, nations are never going to lose the 'what's in it for me?' mentality, and nationalism is not going to go away. But is something completely different than the world's historical experience becoming more in nations' best interest? Does any nation think so?

George W. Bush has purchased 98,840 acres in Paraguay, near the Bolivian/Brazilian border.

Jenna Bush paid a secret diplomatic visit to Paraguayan President and the U.S. Ambassador. There were no press conferences, no public sightings and no official confirmation of her 10-day trip.

The Paraguayan Senate voted last summer to grant U.S. troops immunity from national and International Criminal Court (ICC) jurisdiction.

Immediately afterwards, 500 heavily armed U.S. troops arrived with various planes, choppers and land vehicles at Mariscal Estigarribia air base. More have reportedly arrived since then.

George Bush, Sr. is also involved in the deal, and that immunity against extadition is part of the law in Paraguay.

Isn't the Bush family rich enough to pay for its own troops and why is the US taxpayer funding troops as Bush's security guards?

We are, or were a sovereign nation, that now seems very threatened by allowing so many who do not feel strongly about America to keep coming here, and coming, and coming.

What is the point of offering guns, when what people may need is education and food? An example: Colombia. Many of the problems in Colombia would be better tackled if the millions of dollars sent in military stuff were invested in assuring a diversification of the agricultural activities.

"The nation's favourite" they call themselves, but with every gratuitous rise in the License Fee they are becoming more and more disliked, even hated. If they are as popular with the British public as they say they are, then let's see. I call on Culture Minister, Tessa Jowell, to give the go ahead for a national debate and fee-payers vote. Let the minister and the BBC put up, or BACK DOWN.

to the government and other agencies. I understand what this is for, and I know that some of this money goes to people on welfare, etc..what i dont care for is when some people decide to go climb a mountain in the dead of winter and my tax dollars are used to go look for them..im thinking hundreds of thousands have gone to help look for the remaining two mt hood mountain climbers...why? nobody forced them to do this..they were looking for adventure and they got it...why should i pay for their stupidity? you can agree or disagree with my comments i dont care..i dont think its right.
