One of the goals of Communism is to spead it throughout the world. We are doing the same thing in the Iraq though.

A better question to ask would be: Why should we be fighting a war that has no basis in fact?

And as far as democracy is concerned...who are we to invade and dismantle a country and then blame it on the spread of democracy? Watch what happens in 2 1/2 years when the right people start asking the right questions and then taking action on them.

Oh...and if we pull out (or "cut-and-run" as W likes to say) what is the worst that could happen? They start killing each other and not us anymore?

Let them have their oil and their unstable region...we can use so many other kinds of fuel it is ridiculous that we are still trying to just use oil....Oh, could it be that our President comes from Midland, TX (the richest town in our country) and he and his family are billionaire Texas Oilmen??...Nah...that would be silly of me to presume.

Enjoy the veal.

It's not about stealing oil as one person said, but it's not really about spreading freedom either. It's about stabilizing a very unstable area of the world.

We didn't know what we'd find when we went in there. We knew they had WMD's but all we could find were a few thousand tons of poisonous gas. We did find training camps for Al Quaida, but we knew they were doing that already.

If we can stabilize the place some and let them have the freedom to make their own government maybe it will lessen the damage that the terrorists can do to us in the future.

I always wonder why some people think that others don't deserve the freedoms that we take for granted every day.

I agree completely. We have no right to be setting up a Democratic Government in Iraq when the U.S. isn't even a true democracy (we're a Republic). Also, Iraq's people have made it abundantly clear that they don't want us over there. The U.S. should take a hint and butt out.

I am not sure if they might don't want it. But in reality Saddam was committing genocide the same thing that's going on in darfur. And I am almost certain you feel that we should be there.
and to the oil pinhead. Mexico is full of oil why do you suppose we haven't invaded?

Some people kind of like the idea of global domination. Someone needs to tell Dubya that this whole iraq thing isn't his own personal game of Risk.

It's not about Democracy. It is about the choice of democracy. Democracy in its pure form probably isn't good and there would be shades suited for the situation.

It's not about spreading Democracy and it never was. It's about oil or whatever natural resource a country has that the US can take. Whatever made you think it was about Democracy? Oh, you mean what the politicians TOLD us it was about? And you BELIEVE them???

Yeah, it is much better of an idea to let them keep a government that pays people to kill Americans.

That's MUCH better.

We shouldn't in my opinion. We should mind our own business.
