Here is a statistic in favor of abortion as reported by the ACLU

"Between 1967 and 1971, under mounting pressure from the women's rights movement, 17 states decriminalized abortion. Public opinion also shifted during this period. In 1968, only 15 percent of Americans favored legal abortions; by 1972, 64 percent did. When the Court announced its landmark 1973 ruling legalizing abortion in Roe v. Wade, it was marching in step with public opinion."

Abortions do not, in fact, cause cancer, infertility, or dark, dark despair. There are complications, but there always are, for everything. The most commonly mentioned emotion after getting an abortion is "relief". I don't have any specific stats against, but I wanted to make sure you had the proper info before anyone tried spouting the lies that some on the anti-choice side do so love.

Statistics cannot be "for" or "against" abortion. Statistics are numbers. They can be "about" abortion, and you must draw conclusions from them to make your arguement.

1.37 million babies are aborted each year. about 1.27 million are due simply to birth control. These do not include rape, incest or medical complications concerning the mother.
