Wisconsin Rep. David Obey, a veteran Democrat, recounted how he left the Republican Party during the era of Sen. Joseph McCarthy, R-Wis., and said that lawmakers have an obligation to criticize their allies as well as their enemies when they go too far.

"I've got an obligation to be equally upset when that kind of juvenile debate emanates from the left," Obey said.

Does Bush actually believe people think he is doing a good job? Why would he think anyone would listen to him?

is this is like someone off the street giving advice to someone on how to do open heart surgery, except there's a small chance the person on the street might know what they are talking about.

It has been over ten years now, that the Supreme Court found Ohio's method of funding schools unconstitutional. Nothing has changed since that ruling. I realize that voters elect the individuals responsible for correcting the problem. The politicians wish to keep their seat in office and don't want to make waves. However, can't the court enforce some sort of action to take place?
Meanwhile, while we wait for something to change, the education of Ohio's children suffers.
I vote, I participate in Zack Space's surveys. How can I create waves?

with all the electoral f*** ups in Florida and Iowa...and tampured e-voting machines and the lobbiests pushing to get e-voting everywhere...some say more than half of all votes are made electronically...numerous programmers claim that the machines can be easily and undetectably tampered with...I'm an environmentalist but i have no problem using tones of paper for BALLOTS...it's the only way to protect your vote. do you listen to them when they say "oh these hanging chads and holes don't line up with the candidates name....what a hastle. let's use our wonderful and infaluable technology."

I am a Democrat, so I am not bashing Hillary, but I do not think she should automatically be elected unless it is based on her own merit. I fear that too many Dems. are automatically voting for her because of her name and what they think BILL will do for our country.

Especially for President. Prime example: Guliani is clearly not a Republican but the media has made him the leading candidate for the Republican nomination

...and whatever gave his supporters the same idea?

I can just hear the conversation that ensued:

G.W.: "Dad, do you really think I could pull it off?"
Sr: "Sure you can son, you just do what you always do, play golf, take vacations & party. Dick & Karl will take care of the rest. The most you'll have to do is read some speeches from time to time & have a few press conferences. Oh, yeah...and don't forget to get Saddam for me. Piece of cake!".
...Little did they know!

Ok… Has anyone else been thinking that California should break away from the union like me? I’m saying we have a ruthless dictator running this country and trying to dictate how we should live our personal lives. It also appears that most of the union dumps on California and hates us don’t they see that California’s money is helping them out. They Say that the Californian Economy is 8th in the world, So we’re pretty much a self reliant state. A few days ago Governor Schwarzenegger spoke at the UN sounding like a leader of a Progressive Country and the first thing that came to mind is California should break away, I think that California as a whole would be much better off. So my question to you is if it were come down to a vote on whether California should become it’s own Republic, would you vote to stay or breakaway.

If the terrorist are protected by groups in Pakistan and the government there cannot deal with those groups or allow our military to attack, should we repect their sovereignty and should we conduct policy as usual?
Maybe it will provoke a total war and we will all make sacrifices. Remember they have nuclear weapons.
