Okay; Certainly not all Republicans are averse to minorities; But the above story is another clear indicator that as a party they are generally averse to them enough that their top tier presidential candidates are simply trying to end-run around them entirely this election.
Umm...Condoleeza Rice has been nailed because her policies as national security adviser and then Sec. State have seen such poor results; Not because of her race. Likewise with Gonzales; Who turned the Department Of Justice into an arm of the Republican Congressional Campaign Committee in 06.
And one more thing, Cons - Please don't cite the Faux News Debate example. That was different. That would be like playing a sports event with refs hired by the other team. The sponsors of these events have almost surely at least found an objective moderator. These guys are just afraid to play on the road...

Come one, bgee - Sure; Lincoln freed the slaves - But the Republican and Democratic parties have long since switched positions on civil rights since then. For evidence of the fact that Republicans are no longer friendly to minorities; One only need look at the way the majority Republican appointed Supreme Court struck down integrated schools this summer...
