If the terrorist are protected by groups in Pakistan and the government there cannot deal with those groups or allow our military to attack, should we repect their sovereignty and should we conduct policy as usual?
Maybe it will provoke a total war and we will all make sacrifices. Remember they have nuclear weapons.

Is there a presidential candidate who can answer this question and who can win the office?

Would we fight for her and die for her? You know our enemies hold us in contemp.

IF we know where it came from and have a firm target, take it out.
We can talk to the host country while the missles fly,the target may not stand still for long.
If the target is in a city, give them the facts and 24 hrs to take out the target themselves.

Our SDB's can take out a building and not break windows a block away.

Ofcorse this depends on what kind of attack. A invasion of a allie, a invasion of our soil, a forceful takeover of a neutral, or a terrorist attack which can be very minor, to fairly extensive.

If there is a leader to take out, first offer a reward, because it will be a FRACTION of cost in total money and lives compared to forceful invasion.

For example, Ron Paul would have offered a 1 billion (thats 1,000 million) dollar reward for Bin Ladens head. He would have gotten him. Instead only 10 million was offered, and we have spent over 700 Billion now (thats 700,000 million) and 700x more than what it would have cost.

*Your example if Pakistan is a unique one. Pakistan having the only Muslim bomb is a special situation. Do not froget that india posesses MORE nukes than Pakistan, and they are in a MAD style situation.

You will not like this, but you must wait for a enemy to surface to get them if the yare in territory you have no control over. That is where putting price on heads is a better method. It is more cost and life effective than physical invasion, and it can be truely "top secret".

1) Respect the UN that the US was greatly influential in creating and bring it to the table first. This helps in the long-run and the short-run. The rest of the world respects and contributes more with their military if they see we are actually open to what the world's input in major decisions that always end up affecting the world, not just America.

2) If we decide to go forward, invade the region which caused the crisis if it is decided to invade. Capture the people who have caused the crisis not who the Administration has been wanting to attack for other reasons and feel this is a easy op.

3) You also have to know what happened in context. Yes, I am an American but I do not blindly watch what is represented on our news and believe them. For some reason, we fail to see what the U.S. does that causes other countries to attack us. We are not innocent. On a regular basis we contribute arms, supplies and aid to various regions. This helps those regions to fight against others and we act as if we're innocent in those affairs when our government has blood on their hands in all kinds of conflicts many U.S. citizens aren't even aware of which in turn contributes to such attacks as 911 whether we all make ourselves aware of it or not.

The next time we are attacked we should treat it like any other crime. The first thing investigators do when there is a crime is start inside and work out, which was not done on 9/11.

Most crimes are inside jobs and believe what you want, but most of the evidence leads to the 9/11 black ops being an inside job. So to answer your question, if we are attacked again military officers should stand up to the infidels criminal element in our government.

We have become so "Politically Correct Minded" that we have turned into a weak and mushy state. The PC police have tightened the knot around our necks. We need to do what the Romans and Greeks did, find the enemy and wipe them all out.

We should form a posse and head them off at the pass, just like we did with 9/11. Of course, we didn't get there in time, but we at least lynched a few Arabs who looked sort of like the guys we wanted.

Terrorists are usually acting on their own.

Therefore, we must assume they are till otherwise.

We can not attack a sovereign nation based on nationality, iron clad evidence must be secured.

Otherwise we are limited to surgical attacks.

Our two wars prove that overwhelmingly.

Peace

I think the next time we let the military go we should take the PC leash off them so they can do their job.
It won't be pretty but it would be over sooner and save more lives.

Get the story straight before we decide to invade and get saddled with the albatross for five hundred years, eg Iraq...
