Just watched programme about children going missing in China. Is this linked to the 1 child policy?
70,000 kids are stolen each year by traffickers selling them on.
Since the 1 child policy was introduced, 40 million baby girls have been aborted because boys are more valuable to the family.
The chinese govt. doesn't want outsiders knowing this and covered it up when applying for the 2008 Olympics.
Is there really a relationship between these figures and the policy?
Opinions please.

Is he just a harsh critic or is he the only one brave enough to stand up to elected officials who don't represent the people's interest? Has elected officials seduced by big business lobbyists? What do you think?

I'm currently losing a job because of mental health issues. I have not threatened anyone. I am suffering severe depression and borderling post-traumatic stress disorder. When my boss learned of this, she wanted my resignation that day.

From my understanding, this violates the Illinois interpretation of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which covers serious mental illness. I also want to stress that I've never been a threat to anyone except myself.

Did these problems interfere with my job? Yes. I can't deny that. But my understanding is that under local law interpretations, she is obligated to let me get help and work at improving my job performance.

So I guess my question is should I consider legal action, or should I just move on. I should discuss this with a lawyer, but I wanted to know (educated) opinions on here before I move in that direction.

i started a new job in mid april of this year, then at the end of june i had an accident at home that left me unable to work for sometime. I had mrsa, and blood poisioning and required surgery and 2 months of physical therapy for a deep wound to my heel. my company (an industrial company) paid my insurance disablitlity short term and was starting on long term when I told the doctor that "I really needed to get back to work" And while I was on disablity, I was promoted to an office job so I wouldn't be out in the field (eg dirty refinery). Today was my first day back to work and at the end of the day, my boss called me into his office and told me that "I had not fulfilled my 90 probation, and that I was fired". I understand that since I had not worked for this company for 1 yr, I was not entitled to FMLA, but also, since I was on medical leave (prescribed my my infectious dis doc, wound doc and surgen) it seems to me that my 90 day's would be "on hold".

I can feel the liberals hands creeping towards my purse, trying to get ME to pay for THEIR health care. Since they can't seem to manage their own finances, and pay for it themselves, then they certainly cannot be left to manage their own health care either. I should be able to tell them what they can and can't do with the "investments" coming out of my paychecks and tax returns.

I think those paying the most for this system should have some say so in whether they can have elective surgery, if they can smoke, and if they can have alcohol or drugs - even prescriptions. If I'm to be investing in other people's bodies, I think they should have to follow strict regulations and stay healthy or get cut off this health care welfare.

Basically, pay for your OWN insurance or face REALLY BIG government.

Agree or disagree?

It seems plain to me ! Your religon is fine ! It does not have a place in the white house . If the president was say Muslim or Buddist he would never get elected . The christians or Jewish or Catholic would never vote for him no matter how qualified . So is this un American to judge him on his religion ??? Think about it . AND NO I AM NOT AN OBAMA FOLLOWER . I think religion and government need to be separated as the constitution provides >.

I am staying at a Marriott in San Antonio Texas for over 30 days and my car has been broken into in a well lit parking spot which seemed safe at the time. There are signs that are posted that says Marriott is not responsible for personal property left in vehicles. However, Is Marriott at all responsible or liable for my personal property in my vehicle which was stolen or for my $500 deductible which I must pay to my insurance company to get a couple thousand dollars worth of damages fixed? As a company, I would expect them to comp my stay or provide some form of monetary gesture. So far they have offered me 10k marriott rewards points which can barely get me 1 free night if I pick a sub standard facility. What are the rules against this type of thing and what sort of rights am I able to exercise?

Jesse Adam Macbeth (b. Jesse Adam Al-Zaid,[1] in 1984) is a civilian anti-war protester who falsely claimed to be an Army Ranger and veteran of the Iraq War. He lied in alternative media interviews that he and his unit routinely committed war crimes in Iraq. [2][3] Transcripts of the video were made in English and Arabic.[4] According to the U.S. Army, there is no record of Macbeth being a Ranger,[5][6] or serving in a combat unit: he was discharged from the service after having been declared unfit or unsuitable for the Army, or both,[7] before he could complete basic training

Do you believe in the separation of church (religious organizations) and state (the Federal Govt.)? Would you vote for someone who, like Barak Obama, wants to be America's President and rule as an "Instrument of God?"
