States are serious about DUI's. Now you look at even more serious trouble if you drive on a suspended license (trust me - don't do it).
Everyone needs to pay attention to the DMV books on DUI laws...the fine print will nail you!
You could speak with a DUI attorney, and maybe get a provisional license to go to-from work or school. (But if you get stopped with a provisional, you better be going to work or school or you'll get nailed for that too!)

It's been a couple of years since I've lived in Illinois but I believe that 3 tickets in a year's time will get you an automatic suspension for 90 days. Not much you can do. You know you were speeding so challenging the accuracy of the radar won't help. If it was more close or you knew for a fact you weren't, you have something to work with but that's not the case here. Sorry. I just got my first one in 4-5 years coming down a steep grade on the east side of the Rockies. My advice to avoid this, drive like an 80 year old man, works every time.

Hello my fellow MA'er. Yeah, I have a friend who's son is going through this mess. He's lost his for 3 years, and is mandated to AA classes for over 1 year. Which stinks. What I have a problem is that they won't have an allowance for driving back and forth to work.
OH, and just so you know, the Dept of Motor Vehicles does not update anything when it comes to DUI stops, or that 3rd strike rule. Another friend was saying that he pal had something when he was in high school (over 20 years ago) and now w/ a second, he's now lost his license. He didn't get the license suspension, but the DMV does and has not let him renew his license. So, how fair is that.
I think your choice to take the breathalyzer is your choice, not an instant guilty plea. I think that's totally wrong.
Luck to you.

"just so people dont say I deserve it I was sitting in my car parked but I had it turned on." You were in control of a motor vehicle. Stop justifying your actions and learn to live with the consequences you brought on yourself. You do deserve it. You would have been better off if you just took the test. Apparently you don't make great decisions when you drink. Maybe you should seek some help and quit.

In some states, refusing to take the breathalyzer automatically costs you your driver's license.
If you had the car turned on, you were operating a motor vehicle. If you were intoxicated while doing so, you are probably guilty of DUI. Depends on your jurisdiction.

Refusing to take one is the same as being guilty. Even if your car was parked, it was turned on so you WERE operating it.
Accept your punishment and never do it again.
I can't have any sympathy for you. My father's two brothers are in the ground, at ages 14 and 18, because of an impaired driver. It ruined his family and hurts me every day.

Refusal to take the test is the same as being guilty. You really need a good lawyer. Ask an adult for a good recommendation and I wish you luck.

It's a walk in the park for you compared to what usually happens to the victims of drunk drivers. The victims usually lose their ability to walk, limbs, even their lives. So stop crying that you are inconvenienced for three years. Next time, don't drink if you are going to drive, and take the test.

GOOD!!! if you refused to take a simple test to prove you were not drunk than you must have soemthing to hide. TOO many people are killed each year by drunk drivers. One more off the road is not enough but each one helps keeps someone alive tonight!!!
You were in a car that was turned on that shows the intent to drive!

Some laws are tough. You had control of the vehicle when arrested. Refusing the test was a big mistake. Not much you can do now. Was it your first DUI?
