2/3rds of the people here will just smear him
Of those 2/3rds
2/3rds of those have no idea what Jimmy Carter has done
2/3rds of those have no idea what he did as president except what talking heads tell them to think
2/3rds of those blame Jimmy Carter for things he had nothing to do with.
The bottom line is this:
Of all the living Presidents, he is the one that stuck to his ideals
Of all the living Presidents, he's the only one I'd have over for dinner
Of all the living Presidents, he's the only one I'd leave along with my daughter
Of all the living Presidents, he's a humanitarian first, an ex President second, not the other way around.
Jimmy Carter avoided war. History has proven that.
And today, Jimmy Carter stand miles above most Americans, because he truly lives by his ideals and is 50 to 100 years before his time as president. He is the only person I really know in power that lives his religions ideals of peace and humanity.
Yea, I'd shake his hand, pat him on the back and say, "job well done" as both a Humanitarian and President. While I didn't always agree with him, nevertheless, I have a great deal of respect for him. Something I have trouble finding with Clinton and Bush I and certainly not with Bush II.
Peace
Jim

I don't know about the giving of his life in Darfur but, I do know that he is a very caring person & has devoted his life since the Presidency to good works, along with his wife, who has been at his side working for the good of others.
Jimmy Carter graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in with the rank of Lieutenant. He graduated 59th in a class of 820, not too stupid, I would say! He had a Bachlor of Science degree in physics. He left the Navy in 1953 because of his Father's death. I have always felt that he was a good President.

I will acknowledge that many on this forum don't like Mr. Carter but I think he has a heart bigger than most presidents we've had, especially recently.
How many people on this forum even know what's going on it Darfur? It's heartbreaking and horrible.

Too bad he didn't get the job done. It might have helped people forget about what a terrible President he was and how much he hates American success.
