The Canadian dollar was worth a little more than the U.S. dollar in early afternoon trading Friday, despite a softer Canadian retail sales report for July.

The loonie was trading at $1.0024 US at 12:30 p.m. ET, up 0.37 cents US from Thursday's close.

The Canadian dollar reached parity for the first time in almost 31 years on Thursday, as weakness in the U.S. greenback and higher oil prices gave the loonie the final push it needed to trade at par.

This imaginary person has the domestic foriegn policy of your dreams

This person is the colour and the gender of your choice

But when it comes to god - Just doesn't believe - never went to church a day in his/her life and openly says there is no god and they made up Jesus so who cares

Are you ready for that as a President of the United States of America ?

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.

-I'm an American.
-I'm a Patriot.
-I'm a Democrat.
-I believe in God.
-I believe in free speech, the right to vote, and freedom.
-I believe in America.
-I believe in equality.
-I'm registered to vote.
-I believe government should spend more money on health care.
-I am not a Socialist.
-I believe we're fighting terrorists in the wrong country.
-I believe our troops need to leave Iraq safely and at the right time.
-I don't believe George Bush is even close to being the greatest President ever.
-I still respect the President.
-I believe terrorism is a grave threat.

and

-I believe you're wrong when you tell me I am not American or Patriotic.

What more does it take for me to prove that I am American and Patriotic? I've said my Pledge of Allegiance so many times I am 100% sure I am an American. I'm proud to be one.

Why do they lie to us on every occasion they get, and force the media to only show what they(the government) want us to see and hear. For some reason I seen it written on a document that they hold as the holy grail of law, "WE THE PEOPLE". Does any one out there in this country see that they are trying to strike fear in the masses and to make us belive that they are the brightest thinkers of our time. Oooh,
Im sorry, I for got it was the masses who listened to there lies and they voted them in to office.

Something troubles me about this case. People are protesting asking to "Free" the Jena Six. For me, that is a problem.

Do I think they were treated completely fairly (Especially when there have been other incidents between black/white students in Jena on and off campus)? No.

But let's not pretend these guys are innocent, boys and girls, they laid the smackdown on some guy in a 6-1 fight.

Micheal Bell, who already has several offenses on his record, should NOT be made into a symbol for civil rights struggles.

Should they get a fair trial and perhaps see the charges and jail time reduced...I think so.

Should they walk off scott free....I think not.

Doing that would just perpetuate the double standard some people see so intent on seeing erased.

Re: a automobile accident. My attorney does not let me know what is going on with my case and when I email questions he emails back and is so rude to me. I have a right to know what's going on with MY case, don't I? He knew a couple of months ago that I wanted him to send me a copy of the demand letter so that I could go over it before sending it out (which he did not do) and he is being a total rude jerk in his emails to me. I have no idea what was said in the letter to the insurance company. I have also emailed him and asked what was in my medical records and also what he thinks my case is worth and I never get a answer. This is my case and I'm kept in the dark. This is not right! I am mad enough this time around to fire him but I don't want to have to start all over. I am in pain every day and stressed to the max on top of it. I don't need this from my attorney. Any advise?

if the federal government decided that rather than passing laws and making states carry them out it would simply give the states responsibility for a major social program like welfare?

Do you think that it would create a lot of new jobs for the state, but how would they afford to pay all these people? Caotic?!

I was in a small car accident. Nobody was hurt, the lady who hit us fled the seen and returned over 45 minutes later.

Both cars had to be immediately moved out of the road because it is such a busy interstection (as is the law here) but I do have pictures of the debris in the road where the accident happened. The cop decided to do her a favor (at my expense) and not ticket her because she eventually returned to the seen.

Her insurance company will not cover my $2000-3000 worth of damage because they cannot get in touch with her and she told the cop I was in her lane. (obviously the pictures show otherwise) The insurance company who I sent the pictures to, claim I have no evidence that the pictures are of my accident, so they are denying my claim.

I plan to take her and her insurance company to court, but because I don't have a physical injury (or because I did't fake one) no attorney will take the case. I know the insurance company will have one, what can I do?

Is this supposed to scare someone? We might end up like them. No war in Iraq, healthcare coverage for all Americans. Oh, the humanity!! It may cost me a couple of dollars though, so I guess I will just pass the problems on to my children. They are pretty smart. I'm sure they can solve it.

In my planner, it gives laws that are supposed to be funny. But, I thinkg they're fake. If you live in any of these areas, please tell me if they are fake!

In Canton, Ohio, you have one hour to report your missing tiger to authorities.

In Alabama, bear wrestling matches are outlawed.

In Utah, it is illegal to cause a catastrophe.

In the UK, MP's are not allowed ot wear armor in parliment.

In Washington, it's illegal to pretend one's parents are rich.

In Galveston, Texas, you cannot land your airplane on the beach. (This is the only one that sounds reasonable.)

In Brookfield, Washington, it is illegal to use another person's cell phone to make a prank call.

In Acworth, Georgia, all citizens must own a rake.

In West Virginia, you CAN take road kill home for dinner. (EW!!!)

In Tennessee it is illegal to catch a fish with a lasso.

In 2002 the Greek government passed a flawed law that accidentaly banned all electronic games. (And the law was...?)
