Should we repeal the 14th amendment (section 1)? It seems to me, that so much of the illegal immigration problems and the seperation of families because of the 14th amendment being misused that we should repeal it. It was set in place to help the children of slaves and establish their rights as citizens, not to establish the rights of children of illegal immigrants. So many people enter this country so their children can be born here and have all the "rights" of citizens without having to go through the process of becoming legal citizens. Do we really need that section to be misused and cause more harm than good?

Actually, he will be the best choice. With another president that can not understand anything other than his own race, we are going to suffer. This is a multi-national country, and we need a president that can address equality. It is what he is about, and no other person running can even, come close to understanding what I just said.

The hundreds of phone calls I received from every candidate's headquarters and every volunteer for every issue on the ballot in the last election was extremely annoying, to the point where the phone was ringing 5 to 6 times per hour. A phone call is not going to sway my vote, I make my decisions based on my own research and opinion. This law should pertain to elections as well. If it's illegal for telemarketers to call your home if your number is on the "do not call list" then it should be illegal for government officials as well. Why do candidates and ballot measure zealots believe a phone call will get them another vote? It has just the opposite effect!!!! Hillary, Barack, Rudy and the rest...DON'T CALL!!!!! I already know who I'm voting for!!!

If you answered "false" to at least three of those questions, then to liberals, you're a 'capitalist pig'."

The right-wing of his Republican Party to be specific?

"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are H. L. Hunt (you possibly know his background), a few other Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."

It's always something with these vermin. The Israelis pull out of Gaza and agree to a truce with the PA, Hamas, and Fatah, so what do the Palestinian savages do? Continue to lob rockets at Israel, of course. I love PA President Abbas' comment on what happened: "We don't want ... to lay blame on who impinged on the cease-fire, but the important thing is that there is calm and there is nothing there to justify an assault on Gaza." Yeah, we wouldn't want to do something crazy like lay blame on terrorist scum, now would we?

PM Olmert's office warned that Israel might be forced to take off the kid gloves again, but does anyone think the Palestinians will actually listen? They're like unhousebroken puppies. They do not remember having their noses rubbed in it the last time...it needs to be repeated to drive home the point.

One of my past professors was convicted of felony before he became a teacher. The University is not aware of it. Could he lose his job if they found out? He also had 2 disorderly conduct charges against him, one in 97 and one in 05 (while he was teaching). He was found guilty of both.
I know this is on the bottom of all criminal records, but he's supposed to be educating young minds, I just wonder if teachers can be fired for this.
Notice to employers: It may be a violation of state law to discriminate against a job applicant because of an arrest or conviction record. Generally speaking, an employer may refuse to hire an applicant on the basis of a conviction only if the circumstances of the conviction substantially relate to the particular job.

With discovery of a potentially inhabitable planet 20,000 light years away, plus everyone making plans to reach Mars first, is a space race for the next inhabitable planet apt to lead to warfare? Yes, ideally there should be a single, UN-type space agency, but given their ineffectiveness in resolving problems here on earth, what hope is there for a working agreement between nations of earth in outer space? Given the failure of probes, will nations sacrifice lives just to plant their flags first? I know it sounds crazy, but most of those feeding theories that teh USA never made it to the moon, are the envious nations that never got there themselves. I'm saying space should be a joint HUMAN venture, non-military, and non-agression between groups in space, most importantly, ban the import of materials from foreign planets to earth, which is why a lunar colony to quarrantine and analyze specimens, to prevent contamination of earth, should be the first priority.

I'm sure Rudy would say he would. Of Course, if it wasn't for 9/11 he wouldn't be running for president.

But honestly I think Obama or McCain would have taken that memo more seriously!
