If she comes at you with a knife, that's aggravated assault. If she stabs you with the knife, it becomes aggravated assault and attempted manslaughter.
She won't be released without bail. If she is released on bail, she may not have any contact with you, or she goes back to jail until her court date.

Domestic violence laws protect men and women. At the very least you need to document the threats. Depending on the state in which you live the domestic violence laws may permit the police to prosecute in your behalf. In Tennessee she could with aggravated assault or attempted homicide, both felonies which carry jail time. Domestic violence offenders are also required to spend a minimum 12 hours in jail before making bond, considered by some as a cooling off period. You might want to consider an order of protection. It is a court order which orders the defendant to stay away from you. Violation of a protective order can get the offender jail time.
See if your police/sheriff department have a Domestic Violence divsion and talk with them about your options, since each jurisdiction is different.

Yes she would be put in jail, and you could make a request that she is refused bond due to the fact she is a threat to you. Depending on the location and severity of the stab she could be charged with anything from attempted murder to domestic violence. She would be punished accordingly by state guidelines and required to attend claases. And you can obtain what is called a restraining or personal protection order against her which will make it against the law for her to contact or harass you. She will not be allowed within so many feet of you w/o violating the order, if she violates it she goes back to jail, and I belive she will be held in contemtive court for violating an official court order.

She will likely be charged with anything from attempted assult (if she didn't succeed), assult, or attempted murder. It all depends on the circumstances and the intent.
She will be taken to jail and she may or may not have bail. It all depends on the judge at the priminary hearing. If the authority believe she is danger to herself, society, or you, she will not get a bail, and be held at jail until the court day, then she will go directly to prison.
You *can* go to court, if you feel threatened, with some evidence that she did indeed threaten you, (ie. tape recording, witness, etc) then ask for the court order that she does not come near you or contact you. It is called a restraining order.

She has threatened you so get a court order.Don't just sit around waiting to see what she may do and if she is serious or not. That would be very foolish.
They would take her away but she could possibly get let out on bail. She could be charged with many things right up to attempted murder.
Since she is volatile I would get that court order promptly.Too many times people put things off and live to regret it or are not around to do anything and it's too late.
Good Luck.
