i keep seeing the statement over and over again about how the president/republicans/some government officials not wanting to pull the troops out because it would admit failure. it seems like they'd let more troops and more iraqi citizens die just so they don't have to say "you know what, we made a mistake, let's learn from this"...is it better to let more die to save face? i don't think so...

Pay for the war out of your own pocket. That's what you say about stem cell research, right?

You say the war benefits everyone. I say so does stem cell research. You don't want the government to use your tax money to pay for stem cell research that will help fight diseases that kill millions of Americans every year... I don't want the government to use my tax money to pay for a war that kills far fewer.

I will stop pushing for the government to fund things like stem cell research if you write a check out of your personal account to pay for the war.

Deal?

I mean, he wants to send young children into war without Congress's approval.

He threatens congress if they require Rove aides to go under oath. Isn't going under oath a part of what this country stands for? How can you be the president of the United States and threathen those who advocate going under oath? No one man or group should feel that going under oath is beneath him.

It seems like he does whatever he wants whenever he want. Can't anyone do anything about it? Congress? Hillary Clinton? Bill Clinton? Senate? Barack Obama? Al Gore?

Im thinking of going to law school with the hope of becoming a lawyer, but I don't know if it is really worth it. It is the money and status that really attracts me, but how many lawyers actually get to be partners and earn lots of money? I heard that law school is hard and that lawyers have to work a lot of hours. Is this all true?

In dictatorships, the leader has a tendency to oppress the people and strip their freedoms to secure his position. Do all dictators need to do this to prevent an overthrow? Let's say that there is a benevolent, good-intentioned dictator with absolute control over a country. Is it possible for him stay in power without using an iron fist against the country? If he allows the people to have rights such as freedom of speech and criticism, will that soft-handed approach likely lead to a revolution against him? Or can he still succeed even if he gives plenty of rights and freedoms to his people?

Before the Bush supporters say Kerry was a member of the Skull and Bones also let me just say I already know. He's a traitor too. But I'm seeing a lot of Christian supporters for Bush (most of them on here can't even spell). I wonder if these good ol' Bushippers know that the past three generations of Bushie men mud wrestled naked with another man, got put in a casket, and was forced to "submit to the will" of the man wrestling them that has higher rank all on Yale campus grounds. And if they do know, I wonder how they just write this kind of strange behaviour off as just frat boys being frat boys. Praise the Lord!!!

The Constitution says that Congress cannot approve funds for war for a period longer than two years. There is a bill in Congress to approve funds for Bush's war provided he accepts a withdrawal deadline about a year and a half away.
Bush threatens to veto it and leave the troops in Iraq with no logistical support. Is that not equivalent to holding the troops as hostages?

Bush, Cheney, Rummy, Wolfy, Ashcroft, etc. came up with terror alert warnings, the constant ranting about "fight them there, or we'll be fighting them in our back yards" and other BS scare tactics. Remember the run on duct tape?

Isn't that getting just a little tired? If they're so competent and smart, why hasn't this "threat" been taken care of?
