is this an infringement of my human rights.surely in this country we are innocent until proven guilty.ie the police have to prove it was me who was driving the vehicle at the time the offence occured, but if i take this to court i would have to prove it was not me who was driving at the time.

Hillary is the President.

The troops have just gotten all back home.

Now who would you blame? What would you do?

Just say "Oh well, we must have deserved it." and wait for the next one?

We see the number of Iraqi civilian deaths (ranging from 30,000 to as high as 650,000 in some cases) used as a reason why we should leave Iraq. Personal feelings should not get in the way of an honest answer to this question.

If anything, the cost of civilian lives in Iraq would probably get worse if we left. The Shia and Sunni are not going to hug and be friends if we left. They will still hate each other, and will still fight and kill. If we are gone though, there will be no stong military presence to help quell the fighting. There will be more ablility for the insurgents to have free reign and cause more harm, but instead of focusing on a well trained and armed military, they will be focusing on civilians of the opposing religion.

Maybe this all happened because we invaded Iraq, but that is something we can't change. If you feel pulling out is still right thing, and our soldiers are paramount, that is fine, but don't use civilian casualties as a reason we should leave.

03/20/2007 - Fresno Mayor Alan Autry's attempt to challeng the Federal Government's immigration sweeps was not approved by the City Council. The council deadlocked 3 to 3 with council member Brian Calhoun absent.

"At the end of the day, if you are getting people that 99 out of 100 are going to work everyday under a system that basically invited them here and they are being singled out in an unequal fashion, and you get one bad guy. I don't like that ratio, " says Autry.

Councilmembers had mixed feelings about the federal sweeps. Some said federal agents were just doing their job and others felt they were out to round up any undocumented workers, even those who were not wanted fugitives.

Councilmember Larry Westerlund says, "I don't feel with any comfort level that it's the duty of the City of Fresno to tell the federal government how they should enforce the law as it is currently written."

Thoughts?

People no longer have a say in the government policies and actions. If we want a change, or make a complaint, the local authorities fail to take action & the government don't care about it. This is just like what happens in third-world countries. Has it always been this way, or is this just a recent trend that has been occuring?

Why is it the big government folks can't pass up an opportunity to spend more money on more government run programs? Looks to me like they are taking a "golden" opportunity to increase government spending on the heals of an issue that will be able to conceal their actions. If they want more spending, then let them come forward without cover and ask for it on the front page of the daily news!!!!!!!!!

"Approval of it means we vote to abandon Iraq at an arbitrary time no matter the situation, said Republican Rep. Ted Poe . It's also "loaded with squealing pork that has nothing to do with our troops or the war," added Poe, R-Texas, referring to the billions of dollars added to the bill to fund domestic programs and attract votes.

March 23 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. Navy, after nearly six years of warnings from Pentagon testers, still lacks a plan for defending aircraft carriers against a supersonic Russian-built missile, according to current and former officials and Defense Department documents.
The missile, known in the West as the ``Sizzler,'' has been deployed by China and may be purchased by Iran. Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England has given the Navy until April 29 to explain how it will counter the missile, according to a Pentagon budget document.
The Defense Department's weapons-testing office judges the threat so serious that its director, Charles McQueary, warned the Pentagon's chief weapons-buyer in a memo that he would move to stall production of multibillion-dollar ship and missile programs until the issue was addressed.

An Entire Administration full of liars and incompetent half wits, convicted criminals and a retard at the helm. Why do Americans still believe that for the first time in Aviation and Industrial Histrory that 2 planes desintergrated into nothing and that two of the strongest steel structures ever built just collapsed into nothing and a 3rd structure got scared and just fell. Wake up America or continue to be dumbed down and enslaved

We got Saddam shouldn't our troops come home, I am getting mixed signals from bush was this about Saddam or the Terrorists. The majority of terrorists are not in Iraq, they are spread across the globe. I don't think there is a mission anymore you can't kill all terrorists because they are everywhere. This doesn't make sense bush wants to win the war on terror when terror is spread around the globe. Do we fight on every turf if so that could cost billions of dollars.

I had property stolen from me, which the police found about 1/2 of. 8 months later, they finally released everything back to me, except my laptop -- they say they need to go through it to see if the criminals accessed it in the time that that stole it. But, it could take another couple of MONTHS! Can I ask that they not bother to look through it and to just give it back? They don't think they turned it on anyway, and they've had it for so long. As well, I need this computer for work, I've been renting a computer and it makes me mad to think that I don't need to do this if I just got my own laptop back. I was just wondering if it was legally possible to request that.
