I received a legal document for eviction this morning.. it says that i failed to pay the rent for February. I did leave a check under the office door like i usually do and paid it with a check... i checked my bank to see if it cleared and it didn't.. I am now worried that it either got lost or someone deliberately misplaced my check.. now i have to go to court for this mess. it says that i can contest the claim and pay the required fees on or before the trial date.I have no idea what that means? does that mean i can pay and continue to stay here with the eviction being cleared? or does it mean i have to pay and move out with it still affecting my credit and going on my record? Please help me out with this situation because i am very confused as to why i'm even getting evicted... I went to the office after i picked up the document under my door and tried to pay.. the secretary said she couldnt take my payment and i showed her the original carbon copy check i wrote back in February.

Have they forgotten about the illegal, warrantless, 4th Amendment-ignoring, wire-tapping? How about Guantanamo Bay and Al Ghraib? Remember the Uranium documents used to make us believe Saddam purchased Uranium from Niger...it was obviously not signed by Saddam so it's ok that our administration forged it? What about the Bush administration lying to our faces, telling us there was a link between Al-Qaeda and Saddam even though US Intelligence never supported it? It doesn't matter that our administration is using Halliburton to extract Iraq's oil? How about lying to the people, Bush telling us that he never said "stay the course"? What about the Bush administration abandoning the hunt for Bin Laden when he was cornered in Tora Bora? It doesn't matter that he supports illegal immigration? How about the fact that he slashes much-needed funds from hospitals, schools, cancer and AIDS research programs, and many other things?

How about the fact that his administration restricts the Constitution-given Habeas Corpus with the Patriot Act? It was justified when he took a long vacation after inauguration instead of worrying about Bin Laden? It's ok that he told us he will "hunt down those responsible and then he told us that Osama is not a good use of American resources to hunt down?

I am at an age where my brothers, male cosuins and ex-husband are all Vietnam Vets. I also know many men who are baby boomers who fought in Vietnam who are now going through Battlefield Flashbacks! I myself have flashbacks of another sorts when the evening news gives us the dead count. Many privileged young men found a way to stay out of Vietnam like pres. Bush did. It is a shame that thse same men are finding it necessary to send our young Americans to be killed and maimed in Iraq.
I think it would be interesting to survey Vietnam veterans to see how many of them think we should be sending our youth off to be in Iraq?

Like 1000 tanks 75 jets 150 helicopters 750,000 machine guns . Just what kind of military are we going to leave in Iraq so they can hold off the rest of the middle east . The same kind we shipped them in the early 80's . Fighter jets ,tanks ,transports, copters ,guns ,ammo ,grenade ,launchers ,explosives mines ,communications equipment and all supplied by our tax dollars .

Some of this stuff is being used to kill our soldiers .

Is Bush just Stupid or what .

You can not win an urban war with ground troops .

You must bomb the people into complete surrender .
They should walk up and ask how high when our soldiers show up . We should find guns all over the streets rusting away .

We need to carpet bomb Iraq into complete submission .

I always wonder about these over-the-counter supplements that aren't approved by the FDA. Do they really have the amount of ingredients they claim? For instance, a typical bottle of creatine comes with 5 grams per serving. Some tests have already shown some manufacturers to have as little as 2 grams.

I recently found out that I will be traveling with family to Bermuda next Sunday but at the same time I have discovered that my passport has expired. If I were to do expedited passport renewal, is there any chance that I would get it on time? I also have contacted my congressman to see if he can throw his weight around and get it renewed for me in a timely manner. Any other ideas of how I could get my passport renewed before my scheduled departure?!!!??!!!

All Help Will Be Greatly Appreciated

Chris

Is it legal for a store to not accept change. I was at the gas pump and had a roll of quarters $10 the lady said she cant accept that. I was heated and after 10 mins of me and other customers giving her hell she still didnt accpent it. Is this something that is ok for them to do. Quarters are legal us currecny just as good as a $100 bill. I think this cumberland farms store is rediculous. Discriminate against people who dont got big bills and only change.

What is does your gut tell you?
If a no name average person all the sudden popped up to run for president, and all it took to get that person on the ballot was for you to do a verisign form over the internet. Whether or not you agree with the persons polotics, would you give someone a chance to be heard that was outside the political system, with no party affiliation, and actually worked and lived like the rest of us? Would you give that person a chance? You wouldn't necessarily have to vote for that person. Just curious. I was thinking it might be nice to have someone who has the same point of view as the rest of us making the decisions.

The bus was in the HOV lane. This means High Occupancy Vehicle.
http://www.dot.state.ga.us/specialsubjects/hov/index.shtml
I know this might be too soon to ask this question but I am going to plunge ahead and ask it:
The driver thought he had to be in the HOV lane because he had many occupants. Correct?
His intension was to go through Atlanta onto Florida where the baseball games were to be played.
This poor guy thought he was supposed to travel in this lane because he had many occupants!
Am I on the right track here?"
Diamond shaped symbols on roadway, high occupancy vehicles only, I must follow this lane, I must follow this lane, I must follow this lane.....
CRASH!!!
Am I off base here or could this be a valid reason why this poor guy crashed?
