I have read and understand that thinner people live longer, but that does not, it seems to me, justify this attitude.

Liberal Professor Targeted Me From Day One, Says Christian Student
By Meghan Mulhern
CNSNews.com Correspondent
November 20, 2006

(CNSNews.com) - A Christian social work student who took Missouri State University to court after a liberal professor targeted her for refusing to lobby for homosexual adoption said Thursday she and the teacher had clashed over her beliefs from day one.

Emily Brooker was vindicated when the university agreed to an out-of-court settlement, and the professor was disciplined.

In her suit, Brooker, who has since graduated, accused the university of violating her First Amendment right to free speech by exercising her Christian convictions.

Brooker brought the case after the professor, Dr. Frank G. Kauffman, filed a "level three" grievance against her - the most serious in the school's disciplinary system - after they clashed over an advocacy assignment.

I recall reading how blacks were whipped and had screws pulled out of their bodies by Americans not too long ago. Does the "land of the free" still do this? They were using blacks for inhumane experiments long after the phrase "land of the free" was used. Will the Iraqis be free like the blacks were? It's the "American way" of course, say one thing be another.

In a recent news release from United Press International, they state that according to FBI statistics, there is an increased number of gangs that are forming from the Internet. The following is a copy/pasted article, which states the following facts. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

U.S. street gangs use Internet to recruit
By UPI Staff
United Press International
February 21, 2007

WASHINGTON (UPI) -- The U.S. Justice Department said gang membership is rising in the United States as the groups increasingly use the Internet for recruitment.

Statistics from the department show that there are more than 21,000 gangs in the country with more than 700,000 members and those numbers are increasing, ABC News reported Tuesday.

The department said the groups use "Net Banging," the use of online content glorifying the gang lifestyle, to recruit children as young as 8 years.

"The concerns you have with that generation is they do not have a criminal history. And so because they do not have a criminal history, we don't have a lot of information on them," Wichita, Kan., Police Chief Norman Williams of the younger gang members, told ABC.

Chip Burress, assistant director of the FBI's Criminal Division, said the gang problem is a major concern.

"It's not becoming an epidemic, it is an epidemic," he said.

The young, presentable, and successful black man fade has largely come into popularity because of Tiger Woods. Obama puts off the same vibe and now will be socially accepted to be president. Do you agree?

I recieved a reckless driving summons without being pulled over. I was at work on a saturday and came home to a summons on my door explaining that friday night I had been spotted driving recklessly and was due in court a week later. It had no other details, no speed, and no speed limit. I'm unsure what I actually did wrong so I'm not sure what to even tell a lawyer. When I spoke to the officer on the phone he asked me where I was Friday night and told me to come down to the station to discuss the summons. After I refused he became angered that I wanted to "make things difficut" I really don't know what I did wrong and the only think I can think of would be speeding. I don't want to spend the money on a lawyer but it looks like I'll have to. Any advice or similar experience?

If you think he is smart, please provide amy kind of proof. Good Luck

I am a firm believer in the "Live and Let Live" saying. People are free to eat, drink and smoke as they wish and whenever they see it fit, within their own beliefs and habits. We can almost all agree that smoking however is a deterrent to good health, causing the smokers and the non-smokers serious health conditions. We also know that the health system is suffering from lack of funding and is sub-par to what it should be nowadays in country like ours.
Having stated facts, I'd like an intelligent and constructive feedback on this: Would you support raising considerably taxes on smoking products (cigarettes, cigars, etc..) accross nation rather than doing so in other areas like income tax ? Would you raise it to 50% ?
The increase would help fill up the registers in the health system, encourage people to smoke less for financial reason primarily (secondly for health conscious), and enable people to earn more (regardless if you smoke or not). I appreciate intelligent answers.
Thanks.

Not that I'm for war, but a war did win us our independence. The civil war ended slavery. World War II must have accomplished something. What if we win the war on terror and end terrorism. Would that be a bad thing?
