I recall reading how blacks were whipped and had screws pulled out of their bodies by Americans not too long ago. Does the "land of the free" still do this? They were using blacks for inhumane experiments long after the phrase "land of the free" was used. Will the Iraqis be free like the blacks were? It's the "American way" of course, say one thing be another.

As a matter of policy, or publicly accepted practice, no. However I am sure there are still the occassional instance of some nut case doing something like this for his own sake.
However it is not exclusive to blacks. Every group of people in the country has their haters, and that's all it takes.

No i dont think in general "blacks" have been tortured. but u have heard of the killing that happen. also its not just the American way, many country's as well as people have been hypocritical. i live in the south and they are yes sometimes treated unfairly and sometimes hurt then again so are the whites sometimes but for the most part, no, there not still tortured.

America isn't exactly as bad as you're thinking.
For example, The most popular music in pop culture is Rap, which is dominated by black Americans.
you're referring to decades ago, America has a judical system and has active blacks, whites, etc in the office.
Also, there are a ton of anti-racial profiling laws and acts now.

The only "tortured" blacks in this country are the ones married to white women.

There are still occasions where blacks are tortured in some parts of the US. It is no longer widely practiced, and is considered inhuman.
There are some people (mainly in the south) who proudly consider it a part of their heritage to hate anyone with dark skin. Groups like the KKK still propagate ignorant concepts like 'race purity' and 'white superiority'.
It's a sad and pathetic testament to the power of ignorance, fear, and hatred, and the sheeplike tendency of humans to go along with whatever they are told.

Everyone that comes to this country as a minority is unfairly treated. Look back at history. Blacks, chineese, italians, and now mexicans.
