Why do Republicans get a thrill from watching old people and children go hungry?

I have read and understand that thinner people live longer, but that does not, it seems to me, justify this attitude.

The same reason the left gets a thrill to see suicide bombers kill dozens in Israel and watch Hezbollah kill children so they can take photographs and make up captions about Israelis bombing schools.

The person you describe is a sadist and you assiciate the term "republican" with getting a thrill watching old people and children go hungry.

There are more "old people and children going hungry" in this world under socialistic governments than here in America. Socialism has starved and murdered more people in history that almost anything else...well maybe second to religion.

I hope that one day you will be able to free up your mind and retake your right to exercise your reason and logic so that you can avoid embarrassing yourself with such questions.

I wish someone would ask some really good questions on here, ones that demand thought and seek to enhance knowledge and reason. Anything other than these simplistic kinds of questions.

Wait. I'm confused.

Republicans prefer to help people make it on their own by, for example, providing a scholarship to a poor child who otherwise wouldn't be able to become educated, find a good job and support himself.

It's the dems that create all the social welfare programs and create dependence on the government. The dems who perpetuate helplessness and poverty.

Democrats may give the poor food for the day but Republicans teach people how to feed themselves.

Also, someone mentioned that the dems are for working class and republicans are the elite. That's backwards. The republicans allow you to keep more of your tax money and want government to be smaller. They feel you are the best suited to make decisions for your family and take care of them.

Democrats increase taxes to provide more social programs - feeling the government is best suited to make decisions and take care of your family, but they tax the working poor and middle class most. So, unless you're living on welfare and want the same for your kids, you probably wouldn't vote democrat.

The further left you go, the greater dependence on a larger government and the higher your taxes are. The further right you go, the smaller the government, the more freedom you have and the lower your taxes are.

That is a broad question. I am not into politics at all. But I
can say that if you were to ask a room full of republicans
this question, most would disagree that they get a thrill
from watching old/young go hungry. There is a lot of
greed in the world and selfishness, which is a major reason
why we see so much hunger and injustice, however I would
not say its not all because of Republicans. One day soon this will all be eradicated. Proverbs 2:21,22. Psalms 72:12-16.

How do you come to that conclusion, because we don't feel it is right to carry people that have made bad decisions in life. i don't mind helping people that NEED help but I'm tired of my tax dollars going to a mother of 5 by 5 different fathers, deadbeat dads, and people to stupid to move out of an area prone to total destruction by a hurricane. It's called a Darwin moment, the strong survive and the stupid don't. Your liberal notion that throwing money at everything will fix it is idiotic and putting a huge burden on those of us who work for a living. Since you sound like a college student I'll give you a hypothetical....you work hard for your 4.0 average, another student cruises along at a 2.0, all of a sudden the Dean decides to take 1.0 from your score and give it to the deadbeat...that's exactly what you're asking me to do. Obviously, you have never listened to a Republican or conservative. If you had, and paid attention, you would understand their position.

Nobody wants people to go hungry. However, the method of helping those in need is important. Republicans enjoy freedom, so they don't want the government to FORCE them into helping people under the threat of incarceration. Republicans want the FREEDOM to choose when to give, how to give, and how much to give.

It is the difference between sex and rape. The same physical act, but the difference is consent. Sex is good, but not at gun point. Charity is good, but not at gun point.

Do you understand now? Republicans want to help people too, we just want the freedom to control how it is done, not have the government force it upon us.

I think your question shows a lack of understanding of the U.S. Constitution and the form of government it outlines. There is NOTHING in it or any other of the founding documents which suggests that it is a function of government to feed people. It isn't. The proper roles of government are to promote justice and punish evil. It is the role of charitable institutions like churches and synagogues to feed people who cannot feed themselves.
Political party is irrelevant.
