Not that I'm for war, but a war did win us our independence. The civil war ended slavery. World War II must have accomplished something. What if we win the war on terror and end terrorism. Would that be a bad thing?

Because Dem's feel guilty about us kicking everybodys ***. They would like nothing better than for us to endure a humiliating loss. If I were GWB I'd have already nuked Iran and said "who's next" Because I for one am tired of bowing to the demands of these little pissant countries.

Democrats are against this war in Iraq. Why? Because it was senseless and unnecessary. Our government has been spending too much money on a war that we have no chance of winning.

As for which President went into Vietnam, it was not LBJ. It was Richard Nixon. Vietnam was also a no win solution. Many lives were lost during that war.

Even though, this war hasn't come close to the death toll of Vietnam, if we continue to be there, the numbers will continue to climb.

There must be a change of plan with this war in Iraq. The one responsible for getting us into that war was none other than George W Bush. He had said from the beginning that he wanted to succeed where his father failed. His father George H. W. Bush warned jr not to got into Iraq and jr's advisors also warned him not to go into Iraq. The reason? There is no possible way to win. Bush, jr doesn't listen and just does his own thing.

Look at his track record since stealing the Presidential election from Al Gore. Bush, jr has more failures than achievements since he has been in the White House.

Congress is working on a plan that will hopefully be beneficial to everyone but if they don't have the support then the new plan will fail.

War is ugly and no one likes war. Until people can communicate without fighting, we will continue to have wars.

Is this a serious question?

Iraq had nothing to do with the War on Terror (a stupid, stupid name), but it may in the future now, since the Bush administration decided to attack it. The reason troops were sent to Iraq was to mitigate WMD threats. They got there, and have found none for years. We should have never been there, and the internal issues of a divided Iraqi gov't are something that US troops cannot solve. Billions of US tax dollars have been spent, and the citizenry (a lot of the same people who voted for Bush, though not all) wants their army back in the States. The Bush administration was wrong about Iraq, and leaving our soldiers there to stop a civil war will not work. So bring them home so they can protect Americans from actual threats!

War is not a football game, and neither are politics. The sooner so many ignorant people see that, the better (especially for our armed forces, who are treated as the pigskin).

It's not just the dems that are against the war. The unfortunate thing is that I don't believe that the war on terror will ever end. These same people have been fighting amonst themselves since the biblical times. It'll never change.

A war on terror can never be won because it is not restricted to any country or civilization.

War is like a game, without rules it will be a never ending free-for all.

A Catholic Democrat, I wish I could say my party was against the war when it began. Unfortunately, most Democrats in Congress voted for the war's authorization in October 2002. Now, four years later, many are still too afraid to stand up against this horrible failure that threatens our sovereignty.

Terrorism will never end completely.
the other wars you mentioned had a definate outcome...it was either going to be A outcome or B outcome. In this particular war it isnt that clean cut.
The other wars you mentioned had a purpose. This one just proved that Bush thinks we are all idiots and wouldnt notice the difference in Osama Bin Laden adn Sadaam Hussien. THIS WAR SERVES NO PURPOSE...at least not on that is any of our buisness

Well you must love Lyndon Johnson. He got us into the quagmire of Vietnam where thousands upon thousands were killed. He must be your hero. Oh wait wasn't Roosevelt a Democrat.

this war wasn't about terrorists. We are there to steal their oil and that is all. If we were so worried about people being hurt by other people, we would be in Darfar, Africa helping those poor babies who are being raped and burned alive.

The war in Iraq has nothing to do with the war on Terrorism.

The war in Iraq is a waste of money and senseless loss of life.
