Even if cops or courts tell you something
in your record has been...expunged.
Don't believe it. It's a a lie.
When dealing with the law. Nothing is excused.

If what you want expunged is something you did as a minor you can petition the court to expunge it. If you don't get that you may ask them to seal your juvenile record (assuming you're an adult now) so that it doesn't show up on background checks.
You will need a compelling reason to have it expunged, so you may want to talk to a lawyer to see what the grounds for this kind of thing usually are and if it applies to you.

Unless you have been unjustly been convicted, or pardoned, there is no such thing as an expungement for you. Your record stays with you for life.

you must petition the court that the conviction is in, you can get the form from a legal aid or legal store
