Instead of saying, "I pledge allegiance to the flag ...", should it instead perhaps say, "I pledge allegiance to the people ..."?

Nowadays, a lot of folks seemed pretty confused and seem to mistakenly believe they need to pledge allegiance to the White House and not their communities ...

Would it not make more sense for Americans to pledge to stick together and stand up for one another than to pit Americans against one another over silly and often corrupt international politics?

I am a soldier i fought to keep this country free a little longer. But I can't even post a poem of my own fillings.

destroyed the World Trade Center.I saw the news casts that day,and unless the Government has figured out a way to make airplanes disappear in midair,I believe the airplanes were flown into the buildings.I just don't understand how all of these people can't see the facts of that terrible day for themselves.Just watch the news footage from that day.

I'm an American, love living here, follow the law, pay my taxes, participate in the political system, active in the community, etc. You'd think that someone who hated America WOULDN'T do those things. But people here call me an America hater all the time, because I oppose Bush's illegal war in Iraq and other anti-democratic policies.

How do they get off trying to define what "loving America" means? Nobody appointed those fascists as America's moral authority.

I mean if people have to pay taxes for free schools (which i am totally for) they should be able to turn that so they can get a free or cheaper education at the school of there pick (a.k.a private school). is this because the politicans want control of our education by teaching people that gayness is good and abortion is good and christans are bad????

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ close associate, the Palestinian-Kurdish tycoon Mohammed Rashid, flew into Damascus Saturday night, Jan 27, with an ultimatum for Meshaal.

During the day, Palestinian casualties from Hamas-Fatah factional battles rose to 25 with dozens of wounded.

Rashid told the Hamas leader that this was his last chance for a ceasefire. If he agreed, Abbas would return to the negotiating table and go back to the proposals they had discussed when they met in Damascus last week.

If not, his Fatah forces were ready to sustain up to 500 dead to win control of Gaza. Abbas lieutenant Mohammed Dahlan is commanding the Fatah side.

DEBKAfile’s military sources report that Saturday both factions turned their guns on each other’s senior commanders. Fatah death squads stormed Hamas mosques, seized and executed three officers of Hamas’ special units. Hamas reciprocated by eliminating Fatah commanders.

Sheeple People who refuse to accept the fact that the Bush administration Orchestrated the Terror Attacks of 911 are just plain ignorant. It's impossible for a fire to melt steel unless it is assisted by something like "oxygen/acetylene" Jet fuel or Kerosene does not burn hot enough to melt steel...LOOK AT THE PERIODIC TABLE OF ELEMENTS. Also if the floors where the planes hit collapsed causing a chain reaction it would have taken well over 90 seconds for the buildings to come down. They came down at free fall speed....9 seconds. There is no logical argument here. Explosives were pre-planted in the building. Case closed! Why are so many people having a hard time accepting this?

The failed policy emboldens the enemy or/and the indecisions and the fight between the Republicans and the Democrats that are not letting the President do his job as Commanding in Chief. Do you think that the Democrats are helping win the war in Iraq one way or the other?? Do you think by dividing our self we get stronger in front of out enemies??
