Are we really making things better for our children???

We are making things better for the children of the rich.. not the ordinary people. For every Paris Hilton there are at least a thousand, probably more.. who struggle just to eat or to get educated. These are the stories we don't tell because we are so busy saving the rest of the world.. perhaps we should clean our own kitchen first.

They think our politicians are no better than the keystone cops. It's all fun and games. People throughout the world can't figure out what has happened to America and American values. Go abroad and find out for yourself if many people regard us a war mongers,or that our national motto is "might makes right".The people of America, not the politicians, but the people of our country are the most generous, caring compassionate individuals of any country in the world. It is our political pundits who have there own agenda which makes America look like we are ready to destroy not only ourselves, but everybody around us. None of that is true but it is a perception that some people have of us. The present war in Iraq, bungled so badly and one which has cost so many American lives is a prime example how American politics work.We should never have gotten involved in a war in Iraq, and we should have had a politician in the White House that can string an intelligent sentence together besides saying "We must stay the course">

Thank you for asking! Some short answers....

I come from a country which values democracy, human rights and personal freedom as much as Americans do. However it is important to remember that for a society to function well it is necessary to know what limits an individual should have and how he should behave in order to fit into society.

When I see some Americans poking fun at their presidents, (including some in Yahoo! answers forums), politicians engaging in mud-slinging at each other, a President that engage in extra-marital affairs in the White House etc, it does not
go down well with me.

America is the sole superpower in the world, and its values and behavior affect the rest of the world, hence others are watching, with plenty of concern.

I would think that they like watching the cartoon. On the other hand, why are so many moving to the states? Ya gotta wonder. As far as making things better for the kids? ha. Who's kids? Not mine. Not my grandkids. I don't really know. All I see right now is a fight to keep others from making bombs. How do you suppose that will help our kids? I don't know about you but I'm scared.

really don't give a ****. they should mind their own business.

as for my children, i have faith that we will get through this little difficulty, one way or another.

i don't care if the world likes us so long as they're AFRAID of us. they're not afraid, YET.
