In this day and age,why are we still a war machine;and will this machine ever stop killing???

Man will always kill. There is nothing that any of us can do about it. We can write to our leaders, sing peaceful songs, boycott companies, recycle, neuter our pets, etc... and none of it will stop anything.

Look at Darfur. They're killing each other for the hell of it. Moslems kill each other for nothing. See? It doesn't matter what you believe or say. They will always kill each other and all we can do is try and keep the peace the best we can.

If anyone wants to criticize the war in Iraq, then I want you to watch the documentary on Saddam's regime on the HIstory Channel. Tell me we didn't help those people? I was there. I talked to a LOT of them. They wanted our help.

However, we can be more aware of it as you're suggesting. I always laughed when I was in Iraq and Afghanistan and I saw news headlines about Brittany Spears. How insignificant is news like that when I just killed a man? I think everyone should put down their cell phones and Starbuck's and really think about the rest of the world out there. Maybe then we can get serious.

I think that at this point, it's really hard for America to stop. Now we have so much power, weapons, and hunger for more. Yes, we do have China as competition... but I think that's making it worse. Because now that we have competition, we have to "prove" that "we're the best". Have you ever heard about maifest destiny? Because it kind of describes what I'm talking about very well... the arrogance, power-hungry, etc. =]
