I mean if people have to pay taxes for free schools (which i am totally for) they should be able to turn that so they can get a free or cheaper education at the school of there pick (a.k.a private school). is this because the politicans want control of our education by teaching people that gayness is good and abortion is good and christans are bad????

You answered it and two thumbs up for at lea stguessing their reasoning. The government wants you to get their BS version of education in order to make you a good little running dog lackey of leftist drivel.

I am a teacher. Let me see if I can answer this. Public schools or government schools are paid for by taxes. Therefore they are subject to the rules of the federal government. Private schools are paid for by the organization that funds them. They are NOT subject to the rules of the federal government. Soooo you can go to a private school but YOU will pay for it. If the public schools paid for it then the school would have to agree to the feds rules. Most of the time the private school is opened so that they can follow what their beliefs are. NOW, there are vouchers. If the school you attend is a failing school then you may choose a better school. Some people have been able to choose a private school but I am not sure if this is state by state or what. Usually you pick a better public school.

The writers of the Constitution wisely decided that the government should not favor any religion over another. Some non-religious public schools are run on a for-profit basis.
You may send your children to any school you choose, but don't ask me to pay for the teaching of ideas that I do not agree with.

I saw on tv that they are in the works of doing that. They want to change it so that where ever the child goes to school the money for that child will follow it too. That way you can go any where you want. That way schools will have to get better or the kids will not go there. That will make it better for everyone i hope it is soon.

Because school is free. Sure, our tax money supports 'em, but they're still free to anyone who walks in the door, so they have to set limits. Everybody can't go to the same school. We can't choose our electric company either, and we pay for that! Now there's something to complain about!

it seems to me here in Florida the governor wanted chits/vouchers for private schools and got it for a while, then the law was reversed. So it's determined by the peoples' vote.

Last I checked, politicians were trying to teach just the opposite. I hope that if you can choose your child's school, you choose one that will teach proper English. Your child obviously will not learn that from you.
