I am Catholic and I would consider myself a very low-key conservative. Doesn't the death penalty say that two wrongs make a right? Why cant we just put someone in jail for life, instead of saying if you kill me, we will kill you. What kind of mindset is that? It is an act that should be condemned and ended, along with abortion. Especially since people have been executed who have been innocent and our legal system isnt PERFECT because we arent PERFECT. So why should we risk someone's life?

Well if abortion is killing intelligent life, but yet has not the intelligence to live on it's own without a mother or life support, then isn't killing an animal unjustifiable as well since those animals ARE able to survive and live on their own, or cry to their mothers when they are in need.

This may upset a few people (it's not meant to), but I think it's a valid question, and I'd like to hear some of your thoughts.

Most Republicans seem to consider themselves Christians, but are totally against any sort of social welfare programs. They seem to think that social welfare equates to handouts for the lazy and that it promotes shiftlessness and corruption. When, in reality, countries that offer the most social welfare to their citizens are among the most successful, with the highest standard of living, and generally produce the healthiest, and best educated people in the world, even beating out the good ol' U.S. of A. (Sweden and Switzerland, are good examples).

I'm wondering, how is it that a Christian can be against social welfare, and still consider him/herself a follower of Jesus, who defined himself by his charity, and his help for the poor. After all, wasn't it Jesus who said, "The meek shall inherit the earth"?

put me in cuffs and took me to a holding cell and then before a judge for a hearing date, shouldnt the police have read me my rights after discovering the warrent and cuffing me? they didn't.

I was cited for speeding and too dark of window tint, which has a court date and is a misdemeanor in Kansas. What exactly does that mean? Does it just mean it is not a traffic violation, or it is more serious? Should worry about being found guilty of it, or just tell the judge sorry your honor and pay it? I'm not sure why window tint would be considered a misdemeanor and different than a traffic violation and if its something I should be concerned about being convicted of. I know possible avenues of getting out of it, I just want to know if I should worry about it.

just wondering, do you think an armada of armed drones survieling the roads in iraq may help us win the war? I was thinking that civilians contracted in the US to fly the drones (while still in the US) would be able to spot and take out insurgents burying bombs in the road thus taking away the insurgents main method of fighting, forcing them to fight gun battles rather than bomb and run tactics resulting in a battle soldiers can fight. Do you thing this might help to turn the tides in our favor? Is it possible? Is it financially feesable? My thought of how it would be done is with Private Security Corporations produce an armada (large enough to watch roads traveled by Allied troops) of these aircraft and the pay civilians in the US to pilot them remotely.

I was just really getting into this whole latino thing last night while watching Telemundo, and I was thinking of going into Mexico and just hangin' out with the locals.
