There are plenty of people who support your stance. Fiscal conservatives for one, who do not want to waste more money on death sentences than it costs to let someone die behind bars.
I do not buy that this country is filled with clones who strictly adhere to one side of the aisle or the other. Most of us, I believe weigh the issues and select candidates based on their positions vis-a-vis our most important issues.
