Army extends troops' Iraq duty yet again By ROBERT BURNS, Military Writer
Mon Sep 26,
WASHINGTON - The Army is stretched so thin by the war in Iraq that it is again extending the combat tours of thousands of soldiers beyond the promised 12 months — the second such move since August.

Soldiers of the 1st Brigade, had been expecting to return to their home base in Germany in mid-January. Instead, they will stay an extra 46 days in Iraq, until late February, the Pentagon announced Monday. The soldiers are operating in western Anbar province, one of the most violent parts of Iraq.

The Pentagon also announced that the 4th Brigade, will deploy to Iraq 30 days earlier than scheduled, starting in late October. The announcement did not say why the speedup was deemed necessary, but three officials who spoke on condition of anonymity said it is part of a plan to beef up forces in Baghdad. The USA Military admits Iraq is having a hard time enforcing peace.

Terrorist experts and generals who served in Iraq have said that the Iraq war is not necessary, and is making more terrorists. http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/09/24/iraq.main/index.html?eref=yahoo

These experts who have been there have said that Iraq was safer under Saddam. They claim that this war has spawned more terrorists. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060926/pl_nm/security_usa_dc_7;_ylt=AlCLFe9So.UH0YTl9iIGbWITv5UB;_ylu=X3oDMTBiMW04NW9mBHNlYwMlJVRPUCUl

They say it's a losing battle that's going now place. All this after idiot Bush, Rumsfeld, and Cheney told us it would only cost taxpayers 9 billion for the war. Now it looks like it will cost a trillion dollars.

Isn't it time we slowly pulled out of Iraq and focused on Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan? Shouldn't we be going after the culprits for 9/11 instead of being bogged down in Iraq?

My brother in laws family in Iraq say that they were safer under Saddam.

Four years of the father Bush/41--which fundamentally betrayed the Reagan Revolution, eight years as it stands now for for one son Bush/43--which is one of or the worse president in our history--and then four to eight more of a son Bush/44.

Too much from one family?

Does Jeb even have a real shot at it?

Did Bush/43 ruin it for him with that touting?

What do you think?

this is a question to all arabs out there do you see iran as a real threat to the arab world and what are you thoughts on syria and its relationship with iran do you view syria as being kind of a "traitor" to the whole arab world because iran is trying to take control of the middle east and its not even an arab state and it has formed a kind of partership with iran and besides iran is more of a threat to arabs than isreal is and saddam was the only person keeping iran from becoming a regional power with him gone iran is free to do what it wants with no real threat to stop it what are your thoughts on this

Can I renounce my (Australian) citizenship although I have no desire to be a citizen of any other country and I was born here (Australia). It's just that I want to be a citizen of the world rather than one linked to a specific country. If I did renounce it would I be locked up in a detention centre with other hopeful refugees?

At the end of 2002, the International Court was holding tribunals over the war in Afghanistan. The meetings were held in Japan. Bush was being charged with 31 counts of war crimes, breaches of the Geneva Convention, and other international laws. The meetings lasted over a year. During the deliberation, the judges reccomended an addition two charges, and upon judgement, Bush was ruled to be guilty on all counts for war crimes, crimes against the environment, and crimes against humanity. You wonder why people don't like us much right now? Especially when even after Bush was found guilty, he was reelected (fraudulently)?

I keep reading ?s on there about how bad the Army is here in Afghanistan. Killing children and woman? You generalize us as Army or Marines. Most of you know someone over there. Would you classify them as Babykillers? If so, maybe you need new friends. We are the politicians who sent us here, we are doing a military job not a political one. We leave that to the guys and gals in DC.

It is pathetic that they( all television network's) failed to tell the people the actual truth, why do the people of USA keep accepting the lie's! It seem's as though the Iron cutain has been installed in America! The Bush administration is hiding the truth about Global warming, the war in Iraq is and was a complete lie and yet the american people praise him at all cost's! I take pity on America as you have nothing but pain and sufferig for years to come! You are becoming a nation that Hitler would of loved! I and million's of other people of many nation's are still asking themselves "How in the %&$# could you vote him in for a second term let alone give him the first term after the BS of the voting error's! As President Putan has said; Russia wants democracy but not as one Bush has created in Iraq! USA has no democracy now, you have lie's and the Iron fist that tell's you what to do! One word "DISGUSTING"!

I know it is extremely challenging to believe that our governments would have orchestrated the 9/11 and 7/7 conspiracies.

Sooner or later there is going to be incontrovertible proof and where will your belief system be then?

I fear they are trying to siphon off the money before my mother dies to leave me with no avenue for reparations...

That is with Islamic fundamentalists? Do you think they would be treating us with so much political correctness if they had the upper hand militarily? If you give them an inch, they will take a yard. Be careful, this dog will bite if you give it a chance.
