It is often said that America is a "materialist society."

Whether this is a good or bad thing, please tell me WHY you think so.

I have to believe that being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you’re a conservative radio host. Then it’s an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery.

The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our highest national priority is enforcing U.N resolutions against Iraq.

The best way to improve our military moral is to praise the troops in speeches while slashing veterans benefits and combat pay.

Group sex and drug use are sins unless you someday run for governor of California as a Republican.

If condoms are kept out of schools, teens won’t have sex

HMO’s and insurance companies have the interest of the public at heart.

Providing health care to all Iraqi’s is sound policy. Providing health care to all Americans is socialism.

Global warming and tobacco’s link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools.

Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush’s daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him, and a bad guy when Bush needed a “we can’t find Bin Laden” diversion.

A President lying about getting a hummer is an impeachable offense. A President lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.

Government should limit itself to the powers named in the constitution, which include banning gay marriages and spying on it’s own people

Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to our harmony

Let's see...
Liberals are mostly open-minded, progressive, support many different groups of people, love freedom, generally nice people, and very tolerant people.

Conservatives are mostly closed-minded people, support very few minorities, love freedom too, generally can be nice but not often as nice as the average liberal, hates change, and not so tolerant of people who do things the "other way".

THIS IS WHY I AM PROUD TO BE A LIBERAL!

I possess all of those qualities as liberals. I love this country, and promote change for the best. Why can't we all be this way?

In Washington's farewell address, he warned about foreign entanglements with an eloquent speech, written in plain but brilliant terms. Please read it carefully and see if you can explain away the difference between our current mideast policy and the position that The Father Of Our Country took:

they created Ahmadinejad and Chavez. These DEMOCRATICALLY elected leaders are the progeny of the right’s doctrine of spreading democracy. Why don’t you stop crying and embrace the offspring of your bastardized version of democracy? Because these two are only the first of many that will be democratically elected by nations that hate the US.

Does this not make you feel uneasy?

--- "The attention given to the nuclear option has created serious misgivings inside the offices of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, he added, and some officers have talked about resigning," Hersh wrote. "Late this winter, the Joint Chiefs of Staff sought to remove the nuclear option from the evolving war plans for Iranwithout success, the former intelligence official said." ---

--- Last week, a military intelligence official described to this reporter the movement of Naval submarines and a deployment order sent out to Naval assets of strategic import, such as minesweepers, that could indicate contingency planning is already under way to secure oil transport routes and supplies. ---

Karl Rove has been the king of dirty politics finding emotional triggers to get unsuspecting voters to despise the Democratic candidate, or even the Republican moderate candidates that Rove wants to get rid of. He has used various strategies like getting the "Defense" of Marriage referendums on ballots in time to bring out conservative voters during the 2004 elections. What's he up to now? I would like to see these strategies named so the public will understand his political game up-front. In short, Let's Name the Game!
